Trojan basketball season opens
On Friday, November 29, the Trojans hosted the Deshler Tigers and walked away with wins for both the Varsity Girls and Varsity Boys with final scores of 69-58 and 62-58, respectively.

Jackson Bratton named finalist for Butkus Award
Muscle Shoals linebacker and Alabama commit Jackson Bratton remains in contention to win the 2019 high school Dick Butkus Award.
The Butkus Foundation announced the five national finalists for the award on November 25, and Bratton is the only Alabama player and only player from the Deep South among them.

Picture Makeups
Senior portrait make-ups will be December 11th during the school day. Mrs. Vaughn will send out a schedule and personally notify each senior.
What to Bring: Check (made out to Joseph Romans) or cash for $35 for the sitting fee.
Make up pictures for grades 9-11 will be on December 11th during school.

Student of the Year DEADLINE is Dec. 6
Students interested in being considered for Muscle Shoals High School "Student of the Year" for 2019-2020 may pickup an application in the guidance office. A copy of the application will also be emailed to students.
DEADLINE TO APPLY IS FRIDAY, DECEMBER 6. Applications may be turned in to Mrs. Wagnon in the main office or Mrs. Veal in the guidance office.
Applications will be reviewed in December. The school's selection committee will hold interviews in January to choose our nominee. That MSHS Student of the Year will be nominated to the Shoals Scholar Dollars committee by January 31.
The Student of the Year program is sponsored by Shoals Scholar Dollars. The program is designed to recognize outstanding students from each Shoals area high school. All students in grades 9-12 are eligible. All local school nominees will be honored at an April 23 banquet at the Marriott Shoals Conference Center, and the Shoals Area Student of the Year will be named.

Remember that all 11th graders across Alabama will take the ACT (paid for by the state) on March 10. Individual registration for this test is not necessary. MSHS will take care of registering all juniors for the March 10 test.

Monday, December 16 is the last day attendance will be recorded. Students may check-out of school WITH A PARENT NOTE. On Tuesday & Wednesday, students report only to the blocks of time where an exam is to be taken.
