Shabonee Library News!
Week of August 29th
It's time for library portfolios!
This week, students created their own library portfolios, designing it in the style of a book cover. It was exciting to see the exciting ideas from each student! It was a great experience to see how our library community is full of unique perspectives. Students first had to consider the "title" of their portfolio, and then added pictures that went along with the title. Students could then add some optional details that are often found on book covers, including: awards, short text descriptions, and quoted reviews.
It was a lot of fun! The portfolios will now be used to store some of the independent work that takes place in the library.

Another Pop-Up in the library!
Upcoming library sneak peek!
After learning about the independent "Pop-up" Activity in the library last week (The Book Tasting), we will be learning another independent activity called "Wonder of the Week." Students will learn the process of investigating the question through library-approved sources, as well as making sure each research step is completed successfully. Look for pictures and a more detailed description in next week's newsletter!
