Spring Sports Updates
It’s my hope this month’s newsletter finds you enjoying some of the recent sunshine and feeling rested from Spring Break. This has been a long and exhaustive stretch for our students and their families. Coming out of the short days and long nights of the winter season, right into the rainy, cold spring season, is tough. I marvel at the amazing drive and passion our student-athletes display. They give me such inspiration watching them navigate adversity with such class and grace.
Our spring sports are well underway. Our athletes are setting PR's on the track, challenging themselves daily to be the best version of themselves they can be. Our baseball team is off to a hot start, despite a very challenging preseason schedule. Our softball team continues to be role models on the softball diamond. Each time out, they demonstrate class and grace, improving each and every game. Our boys' golf program is redefining their standard each time they hit the links. Boys' and girls' tennis are working hard daily, steadfast in their commitment on every swing they take. Our newly formed girls flag football team is practicing hard in preparation for their first contest. And lastly, boys’ volleyball is an OSAA emerging sport, and the Raiders are locked in ready to start their upcoming inaugural season. All of our athletes, regardless of their discipline, challenge themselves and the others on the team to embrace the grind of competition, each day knocking down barriers.
And in a special shout, early in March, our very own sophomore Luke Teyema qualified to go the Western Regional high school tournament in California for skiing. In the state qualifying round, Luke did very well, finishing 26th out of 165 racers.
