2023 November Issue
Hello Kahla Parents,
We wanted to remind you that Friday February 16 and Monday February 19 are both student holidays.
Also on Wednesday February 14 is Valentine’s Day and it is a special day for many of our students and parents. However, in order to provide a safe and effective learning environment with limited distractions, we will maintain our standard practice for items brought to school as well as deliveries. Please find below some of these practices:
1) No student gift drop-off by parents or others.
2) Students may not bring balloons, flowers, stuffed animals, or any other gift items.
3) Students may not bring candy, cookies, cupcakes or any other food items.
4) All items brought to school must be school appropriate according to the CFISD code of conduct.
Any items that disrupt the instructional day, including those listed above will be confiscated by administration and stored in the Assistant Principal Office.
We want to thank everyone for helping us maintain a great learning environment for our students.
Kahla Administration
The Black History Month celebration started as "Negro History Week," which Carter G. Woodson, a noted African American historian, scholar, educator and publisher, founded in 1926. In 1976, it became a month-long celebration. Correlating with the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln, the month of February was chosen.
For the month of February our Kahla Knights will explore and appreciate the rich cultural history of African-Americans, and to shine a light on the contributions and achievements of African-Americans to what the United States has become.
Congratulations to Coach Gonzales & the 7th grd. A-Team
