Inspirational Quote
"IT'S DIFFICULT TO LEARN FROM A BOOK WHEN YOU CAN'T READ WHAT'S ON THE PAGE."
"A child’s brain develops faster from birth to age 3 than at any other point in their life – about two-and-a-half times more active than an adult’s. Practicing the alphabet, learning numbers, identifying colors and practicing writing names and words are all key factors in building the foundation for reading and school readiness."

I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to all of the students and parents who helped to exceed our goal of $2500 this year! Our money will help those like Margo, our school hero, with medical supplies, travel and treatment so that they can beat cancer! Our parents and students have so much heart!! This is one of the many reasons that I love my school!

CEF Application for 2016-17 NOW thru MARCH 15th
- The 2016-17 Private School Aid Service (PSAS) tuition assistance application is available online at www.ceflou.org. We also have applications available in the office for those families who prefer to mail their information. Families only need to complete one PSAS application to be eligible for tuition assistance for all their children. The completed application, along with the $25 fee, should be submitted to PSAS on or before March 15, 2016.
- We sent an instructional flyer and application to every St. Paul family recently. Asking for tuition assistance is a very private family decision. Often families who are experiencing difficulty are reluctant to take the steps needed to request assistance but let me assure you, if this is the case the answer will be “Yes” to assistance. Last year with the help of the CEF, needs-based to tuition discounts, archdiocese voucher fund and school choice, St. Paul families were awarded $151,960 in assistance.
- NOW IS THE TIME for more families to join our storied Catholic school community with 105 years of tradition.
You can also find various links or files to download that I will post from time to time as rehearsals progress.

February Book of the Month
The 4-8 grades read Thank You, Mr. Falker.
In our writing this month, we focused on text-to-self connections. Text-to-self connections are the personal connections that we make between our own experiences and a story or character.
Students were prompted to reflect on someone that has made a difference in their life and write about them, or write a letter to them. They were also able to reflect on their life experiences that related to the book.
Here are a few examples of outstanding work this month.
Tanner H - Kindergarten
Kendall N - 1st grade
Aubrie Schnieders - 3rd grade
Kali W - 4th grade
Kaylee H - 5th Grade
Kyleigh Johnson - 6th grade
Has anyone ever made a difference in your life? Well, there is this one main person who had made a big impact on my life, and her name is Harper. She is my little sister. She has changed my life and made it better. She is 4 years old and sassy.
My sister has a disease and no one knows if there is a cure but she lives life to the fullest and she never gives up. The doctors said that she would never walk, talk, or be a normal kid but, she has proved them wrong! She never lets anyone push her down. She might be small but, she is strong.
She has changed my life a lot because before she was here I was the only child in a big house all to myself then she came and changed my life forever. I know that she is sick but she pushes through everything. Just last summer she got surgery on her leg because she has a leg problem. She doesn't let that stop her! She does cheer, volleyball, baseball, soccer, and teeball. She is my best friend and my hero! I LOVE HER SO MUCH!
Shelby Mundy - 7th grade
“Honey is sweet, and so is knowledge, but knowledge is like the bee that made that sweet honey, you have to chase it through the pages of the book”-Patricia Polacco
Reading is knowledge, but some of us struggle to catch the bee. All of us are like Trisha in some way. Some of us in reading and some of us struggle in other ways. Everyone of us struggles in something. The only difference between people is some choose to try to find a way to overcome their struggles while others hide behind it.
It doesn’t matter how alone you feel when you are dealing with your struggles, there is always someone there to help you. When Trisha felt alone and like no one understood Mr.Falker came and helped her. Many of us feel this way whether it is in school or it has something to do with your faith you just need to find the person who can help. If you can’t find a person there is always God to turn to.
There are many struggles in life and sometimes we need someone besides ourselves to help us.
Joey Box - 8th grade
Coach Knable has made a difference in my life. Coach Knable has worked with me in wrestling since I was younger. I was a happy go lucky little boy when we met. I was not the best and did not have the skills that all the other boys had. He was willing to help me and he believed in me. He let me come to his camps and found things for me to do that would make me better. He didn’t make me stand out he helped me to fit in. He included me with those other wrestlers who were better, stronger and quicker. He made me believe I would be like them one day.
After Jamie left, Coach Knable was still there for me. He would take me aside to make sure I was ok, but also made sure I was still walking the right path for my mom. He worked with me through all the pain I was having and provided me with an outlet which was wrestling. He worked with me all spring, summer and fall in wrestling but also in setting an example that others would want to follow. Wrestling was how I was able to deal with everything in life and it kept me going, so I guess you could say he kept me going also.
He was a role model for me to look up to and someone to talk to. Sometimes I didn’t want to talk so he was a partner to wrestle with. He always let me know how proud of me he was and encouraged me to work harder. When he knew I was getting tired he would yell something to make me smile and then make we wrestle or work harder. The tire at his gym and me are real close now. He shares the love of wrestling and has helped me to set and reach goals. When I didn’t reach my goal, he was there to let me know it was ok. I am very happy God put him in my life.
