PRINCIPAL'S CORNER
Dear Navin Family & Friends,
Beautiful weekend so far!
SEXUAL ABUSE PREVENTION INSTRUCTION FOR GRADES ALT.K-4!!
Recently, you have received letters from the district, our school, and your child's teacher about Ohio Senate Bill 288, which requires schools to offer instruction in child sexual abuse prevention for students in grades kindergarten (include Alt. K) through sixth. As the parent/Guardian, you have three choices:
- Have your child participate at school
- Review the information at home with your child
- Opt-Out completely and your child will not participate at all
Navin will provide this instruction starting on May 3rd for students in Alt. K-4. If you want to Opt-Out or review this info with your child yourself at home, please call the Navin Office (937-578-7000) no later than Monday, 4/29. To review this instruction, click HERE.

STATE TESTING UPDATE:
Our State testing (OST) moves back to grade 3 this week as they participate in Math Part 1 & 2 (4/30 & 5/2) . In order to help your child to do his/her very best, please consider the following tips:
- Make sure your child gets plenty of sleep the night before the test
- Have your child eat a good breakfast either at home or at school so they're ready to go
- Try to avoid taking your child out of school for appointments or vacations if possible. Although we have testing make-up days, research shows that students who test with their classmates tend to do better overall.
Thanks for your support!

We can't do this without your help! Please consider volunteering your time to come to school on Monday May 20th and help us. Volunteering will include telling students how to play field day games and how to participate at each field day station. familias navin,
¡Gracias!
