Elements
An element is a unique set of atoms, that have the same amount of protons in their nucleus. An example is carbon.
Compounds
A compound is 2 or more chemically bonded elements. An example would be NaCl which is salt.
Periodic table of elements
The periodic table of elements are composed of all elements.

A mixture is 2 or more non-chemically bonded elements. An example of a mixture, is salt water and macaroni salad.
