Message from the Principal
Greetings,
Happy prom day to our juniors and seniors! I’m thrilled that we sold 511 tickets to prom which is the most we’ve ever sold. And a bonus that the weather looks beautiful (it poured rain last year)! I’m looking forward to a lovely evening. Please remember that the dance begins at 7:00 PM and students must arrive by 8:30 PM. Students arriving after 8:30 PM will not be admitted.
May arrives next week, how is that possible, and with it comes mid-term for term three. As a result, we have a two-hour early release on Thursday, May 2. Please be sure to continue to monitor Schoology assignments and grades to help your student finish the school year strong.
MCAP re-testing continues next week, this time for some students in Advanced Algebra, Transitional Algebra, and Contemporary math. The following week we will have MCAP testing for Geometry, Algebra 2, and Algebra 1 students as well as the beginning of Advanced Placement (AP) testing. Not only are the MCAP assessments graduation requirements, but they can also indicate that a student is “college and career ready,” while students can earn college credit for their scores on the AP tests. Please encourage your student to take these assessments seriously and to try their best.
Finally, thank you to those of you who have already signed up and dropped off items for Teacher Appreciation Week! As a reminder, we are seeking donations to celebrate our phenomenal teachers. Please sign up if you are able and drop off your donations in the Front Office next week.
Thank you for your partnership and have a lovely weekend!
Sincerely,
Lisa Smith

Student Services
What are your plans after Graduation?
THS would like to highlight our current seniors’ plans for after graduation. In order to do that we need students to fill out a quick survey posted below by Friday April 26th. It will take students less than a minute to do this. Once we have all the answers, we will create a display in our cafeteria for everyone to see with students' names and their future plans.
Seniors
Current Seniors need to complete the county-wide Senior Survey 2024.
Please go to your Naviance account at: https://student.naviance.com/tuscarorahi and log in using your FCPS email address with NO password. Once logged in, click on the “Planner” tab at the top of the page, click on “Tasks” from the drop-down menu, and scroll down to “Senior Survey 2024.” Click on the link and then click “take this survey” in blue, on the right-hand side. From here, please complete the survey. It will be helpful to have certain information available such as the list of colleges to which you applied and how much scholarship money you were offered.
Any Senior that has not completed their Senior Survey prior to April 26th, will be called down to complete the survey.
