Characteristic Behaviors of Children with Autism
Social Deficits
Children have trouble communicating to other people because they don't know how to communicate with other people. Kids usually tend to have conversations with themselves rather than having conversations with other people and stay in their own world. They also have trouble making friends since they aren't good with communicating, they also have trouble understanding another person's feelings and they talk with little to no expression or when they do talk, they talk in a singing voice.

Language Deficits
Language development is impacted because when people have autism, they tend not to speak to anyone anymore which can cause them to forget words and how to communicate with people. Kids with the disease can also have difficulty understanding gestures as simple as waving. They usually hear people say words twice or they just hear different words when no one says anything.

Cognitive Deficits
Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) tend not to pay attention in class, they have trouble following directions, they also have trouble reading and writing which can effect them from learning. Kids use tantrums to tell people about certain things that they want to do or not. Kids have problems moving onto another activity, they flap hands, stare at random things, and they don't pay attention to a topic which can also get in the way of them learning.

Treatment Options
Common treatments include...
Behavior Therapy
First, Behavior Therapy is a treatment for people with ASD because they can teach them not to use tantrums to decide what they want and what they don't want. Behavior therapy also helps people be able to pay attention and learn instead of getting easily distracted.
(Zoe, 2008)
Language Therapy
Next, Language Therapy is a treatment for people with ASD because they can help teach them to understand words so that they are able to communicate with people. They also can help those who don't understand the everyday gestures that people do.

Social Skills Therapy
Lastly, Social Skills Therapy is another treatment for people with ASD because they would be able to work on communicating with other people. It is a good treatment because then if a person knows how to communicate with other people, then they would be able to make new friends and understand another person's feelings.
