Fearless
Martha was sitting on her front porch when a group of soldiers rode up on horses looking for her husband and Sumter's Army.
A soldier grabbed a hook that was on the wall of her house
and held it up to Martha's throat,
Martha fearlessly still didn't say her husbands location or Sumter's army.
Trustworthy
Martha's husband put her in charge of gunpowder hidden in their house, the British soldiers heard about her storing the gunpowder, but before they could get there Martha had lit it on fire so that the British couldn't use it.
Heroic
When the British finished eating the meal Martha prepared for them, they went to sleep at a nearby house. While the British Army was sleeping, Martha contacted her husband and Sumter's Army, then they came and ambushed the British Army.
