A Message from Mrs. Caudill
Time is just flying by the school year and every day I am so thankful to be a part of such an amazing school community. It's hard to believe November is here already! If you are anything like me, you've started digging out hats, gloves, boots and snow pants to see what still fits and what needs to be replaced.
The first of November also marks the end of our first marking period. Report cards will be viewable in MiStar on Friday, November 15th. Please see the letter below from the Office of Instruction regarding report cards, as they may be marked differently this year due to the adoption of our new math and reading curriculums.
Also coming this month is our annual fall parent-teacher conferences. Parent-teacher conferences are one of the most important methods of communication between our families and the school. We are very much looking forward to your participation in parent-teacher conferences during the week of November 18. We strive to ensure that we meet with every child’s parent during this time.
To sign up for conferences, please click here. We encourage your active participation in these conferences. Please be sure to bring any questions or concerns you may have so that we may address them.
Happy Fall!
Devon Caudill

Winning design for all-school t-shirt!
The Amerman PTA is proud to announce the winning designs for this year’s all-school t-shirt! The front was designed by Pavithra V. from Mrs. Vertrees’ class and the back was designed by Laura D. from Mrs. Hanes’ class. We will let you know when the shirts have arrived. T-shirt sizes are due November 1st to the classroom teacher. If you do not submit a t-shirt size, one will be selected for your child by an Amerman staff member. Remember this is a FREE shirt funded by the PTA. Thank you to the over 50 students who submitted a design! We loved seeing your creativity and talent!

Have you made your contribution to INVEST IN YOUR CHILD?
Let's hit our 50% goal, we are almost there! Although families are not required to contribute, it is difficult to maintain the programs that our students are accustomed to without a higher level of participation. Would your child like brand new books in their classroom?? Would your child like brand new books in our newly renovated library?? The best way to try and win these prizes for your kids is to donate via INVEST IN YOUR CHILD. The suggested amount is $50 per child, or $100 per family (use the custom amount option for anything other than $50).
- ($50 donation) https://amerman.memberhub.store/shopping/items/92373
- (custom $ amount) https://amerman.memberhub.store/shopping/items/92374
Help us win new books and make sure the kids get all the awesome interactive learning that Invest in your Child pays for! Aside from the joy you will inevitably gain from funding programs, classroom subscriptions, magazines and assemblies for your student(s), there are also PRIZES for ONE MORE WEEK!
This week's winners are:
Noah K.(3rd - Wells)
Evelyn A. (3rd - Wells)
- Preston K. (K - Borchard)
- Jack R. (5- Wayne)
SUPPORT HOME READING! The Booktober Campaign will continue until the end of the month. Each week, FOUR LUCKY STUDENTS will win a Barnes and Noble gift card, plus a prize of their choosing. The sooner your student’s name is entered, the more chances they have to win!
SUPPORT CLASSROOM READING! Booktober will end with FOUR LUCKY CLASSROOMS each winning $125 in a book stipend. The more families entered, the better your chance your child’s classroom has. BUT WAIT! There’s more! The classroom with the HIGHEST PARTICIPATION will automatically be one of the winners and will receive a $150 stipend instead!!!!
SUPPORT ALL SCHOOL READING! If enough families contribute, the PTA will give the library a larger stipend to update books for all students!
Invest In Your Child = SIMPLE fundraising WITHOUT selling to friends, family and co-workers!
Questions? Comments? Can’t remember if you contributed? Want to write a check because you don’t like Memberhub? Reach out and let me help: christine.reppke@gmail.com

Online Programs - Thanks PTA!
Our PTA does so much to support our students, not just with fun events, but supporting the academics of our students as well. One way our PTA supports our students is by purchasing a number of online programs our students can use at school and at home. The programs our PTA is sponsoring this year are:
- Brain Pop (K-5)
- Freckle (2-5)
- RazKids (K-2)
Dogs on School Property
As a reminder, please DO NOT bring dogs onto school property before, during, or after the school day. While many of us love pets, it is difficult to ensure the safety and well-being of our students, including those with allergies & allergic reactions, as well as children and families who are fearful of dogs. Thank you for your understanding!
Annual Family Literacy & Leadership Night
Come for an evening of family, friends & fun.
Join fellow Bobcats at any of three 6 mile and Haggerty Locations: Applebee's, Barnes & Noble or Menchies. Just mention Amerman when you make your purchases at any location to support our leadership and literacy initiatives this year.
There will be a door prize at Barnes & Noble for the first 100 students, family challenge activities and entertainment provided by students and staff. See flyer below for specific times.

Gently Used Halloween Costume Donations
A freshmen at Northville High School Paige D., has started a community service project to help children in Detroit who may not have the privilege to afford a Halloween costume, obtain one for free. She has set up a box station in our foyer where students can drop off a new or gently used costume after Halloween. The donation box will be out for the next two weeks.
Paige is working with an organization in Detroit, Matrix Human Services, that provides a safe trick or treat environment for children in Detroit. Her plan is to donate them for the 2020 Harvest Fest. Thanks for your consideration.
