Mariner Memo
January 25, 2019
Wow, what a crazy winter weather week! I would like to thank everyone for their understanding of the situation and the flexibility that you have shown us. We cannot control the weather, and unfortunately it had a big impact on us this week.
Today, we were able to get started with our exam schedule, with students taking their 1st and 2nd hour exams. Monday and Tuesday, the 28th and 29th, will now be half-day, exam days with students taking their 3rd and 4th hour exams on Monday, and their 5th and 6th hour exams on Tuesday. Second semester will begin with a full day on Wednesday, January 30th.
With only 1.5 days of school this week, we do not have much to share, so this is going to be a very brief newsletter. Rest assured, that all of the fun will start back up next week and we will have much more to share in future editions of the Mariner Memo.
Stay Warm,
-Mr. Ming
MCMS Celebrates Martin Luther King Jr. Day
During seminar, all classes in the school watched a 5-minute video about Martin Luther King and had follow up discussion. Students watched the video posted below and had engaging conversation around these questions:
- What event was inspirational to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. for taking an active role in the Civil Rights movement and why?
- Discuss some reasons why Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. became such as inspirational and vocal leader, as well as the face of the Civil Rights Movement?
MCMAN Returns to MCMS
We are still looking for some parent volunteers to help out, so if you are willing and able, please contact Diane Golan at dianegolan@gmail.com
