Don't Give Up!
As we move into our second round of DCAs and prepare for STAAR, this quote reminds us all--staff and students--to never give up. What may be considered a challenge today, will be a source of strength for the future.
We believe in you and all your strengths and talents.
It's not the team with the best players that wins.
It's the players with the best TEAM that wins!
Never forget:
You make a difference!
You matter!
Your students need you!
-Johanna Sanchez, Shon Brown, and Jose Serpas

Paws for Following Dismissal Expectations and Exiting the Cafeteria Line on a Level 0
Our focus for paws will be dismissal and exiting the cafeteria on a level 0 at this time.
Hopefully this schoolwide incentive will motivate our students to behave accordingly. As we know, Spring fever will be here soon, and we want to be proactive. I need staff to help promote “Paws for Pawsitive Behavior”. This is just reinforcing your classroom positive behavior incentives. Thanks for your cooperation and for all you do!!
Our Vision and Mission Statements- We are what we say we are! Make every day show it.
Hearne Elementary will provide a learning environment where all students are empowered as leaders and critical thinkers. We are committed to building positive relationships in a safe environment while creating life-long learners who are prepared for the 21st century.
Mission Statement
The mission of Hearne Elementary School is to guide our students to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to make responsible life choices and positive contributions in a diverse society. In collaboration with home and community, we respond to the needs of every child, ensuring that each child can and will learn.
Husky 100 Students
These 3rd and 4th grade students were hand-selected by their teachers and campus leaders as students in the approaches, meets, and masters categories of assessment whom we are pushing to their fullest potential. These students are capable of reaching the top and we will motivate them to the end.
Do you recognize a face on the board from previous years of teaching?
Do you see these students in the hallway each day?
Stop and talk with them. Let them know you are rooting for them and their success on the upcoming assessments!
We are already very proud of their achievements!
Input your daily attendance by 8:30AM each day!

If you have a student who has missed more than 3 days (consecutive or not), please call the parent and begin documenting your attempts to get the student to come to school each day. Keep in mind the flu season has been horrible this year. Please express your compassion to our parents and families. Ask for a doctors note to excuse the absence, if necessary.
