Principal Update
Week of November 28th
I hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! It is hard to believe that we have only 3 1/2 weeks left before our next break. Let's use this time to have laser like focus on the individual needs of all students. I am very proud of the progress that we have made in analyzing data and using this information to drive instruction. Please let me know if you need support.
Math Day
Thank you to everyone who has volunteered to have parents visit your classroom on Wednesday. This is a great opportunity for parents and guardians to see the math workshop.
Positive Challenge
I know most of you have heard of and perhaps participated in the mannequin challenge. This weekend I read about a challenge where individuals are challenged to not make any negative comments for one day. Let's take this challenge on Tuesday and see what happens. If you're already a positive person, the challenge is to not make any negative comments for one week. If you hear someone making a negative comment on Tuesday, please give them a friendly reminder.

Wednesday, November 30th - Math Day
Thursday, December 1st - Progress reports go home
Friday, December 2nd - Enrichment Day
December 21st is a half day for students, but it is a regular day for all employees. This day was designated as a half day so that our high school students may take exams, high school teachers may grade exams and finalize grades prior to the holidays. Our high schools begin second semester classes when we return from the holidays. For them, it is like the first day of school with students beginning new classes. This half day will make sure that high school teachers have the appropriate time to prepare for students. All staff may leave one hour earlier than normal.
