Eslam Ayoub: Places to Visit in Texas
The State of Texas is vast, and can be an overwhelming place to the first time tourist or visitor. If you’re new to the state of Texas, or in the midst of planning your next Texas trip, says longtime Texas resident Eslam Ayoub, there are perhaps are few sites you should consider visiting before your trip is through.
The Houston Space Center. A favorite of Eslam Ayoub, the Houston-based NASA Space Center offers visitors the opportunity to experience what is now a monument to both the beginnings and the continuation of modern-day space travel. Eslam Ayoub highly recommends the Houston Space Center as one of the most educational and awe-inspiring places to visit in the entire state.
Padre Island. Padre Island, says Eslam Ayoub, is maintained and managed by the National Park Service, and offers both the first time Texas traveler, as well as the experienced Texas resident, the longest and one of the most beautiful stretches of undeveloped barrier island in the entire world. Eslam Ayoub can often be found enjoying a free weekend exploring the vast natural coastline of Padre Island.
The San Antonio River Walk. Considered by many to be the number one tourist attraction in the state, says Eslam Ayoub, the River Walk offers visitors the opportunity to experience a variety of special events, festivals and boat rides the entire year round. It’s easy, says Eslam Ayoub, to get lost in the many attractions, restaurants and natural beauty of one of the most popular destinations in all of Texas.
Eslam Ayoub understands that there is much to see and do in the Lone Star State, and recommends that prospective visitors take the time to carefully plan their next Texas trip.
Eslam Ayoub: Travel Lightly
Eslam Ayoub is an experienced, and some might say skilled, world traveler, having visited many unique and exotic locations around the globe. As an seasoned expert in international travel, Eslam Ayoub understands the importance of being mobile during a long trip, which is why he always recommends taking a minimalist approach to luggage.
It’s first important, says Eslam Ayoub, to change your perspective on what is needed during a lengthy trip to a faraway destination. It’s important to understand, he says, that it is possible to have a positive experience with less. Remember, says Eslam Ayoub, that your next trip is only temporary, and will most likely not require an entire closet worth of clothes and supplies.
Eslam Ayoub suggests considering a carry-on bag or case as your main and only source of luggage. Minimize your toiletries, books and anything else that tends to take up a lot of room in your suitcase. Be sure, says Eslam Ayoub, to wear one to two layers of clothing as you prepare to depart to your destination. Wearing several layers of clothing helps you to conserve on space in your carry-on, and can help you be better prepared for the surprise of inclement weather.
Don’t skimp on the footwear. Eslam Ayoub understands the importance of comfortable and reliable shoes, regardless of where it is you’re traveling to. While he recommends saving space by eliminating extraneous toiletries and other supplies, it is never a good idea to have inadequate or to eliminate good-quality footwear.
Eslam Ayoub: A Proud UC-Berkeley Graduate
Eslam Ayoub is an alum of the University of California at Berkeley, one of the most respected and acclaimed universities in the country. He is proud to have received his Master’s degree in Civil Engineering degree from UC-Berkeley over two decades ago, and has since become one of the most sought after civil engineering professionals in the country.
The University of California, Berkeley campus, as Eslam Ayoub knows, is located in the San Francisco Bay area, and has been a center of academic brilliance and innovation since its charter was established in 1868. During his student tenure at UC Berkeley, Eslam Ayoub underwent an extensive and very challenging graduate engineering program, receiving some of the best quality engineering instruction and training available in the United States. The UC Berkeley campus is located on over 1200 acres of high-quality real estate, and currently has over 35000 undergraduate students enrolled at the university.
Eslam Ayoub is proud to have been a part of an institution that is always making a concerted effort to make a positive impact not only on the local Bay Area community, but also on the nation and the world. The UC Berkeley faculty, which is comprised of over 1500 full time and nearly 600 part time members, provides some of the most skilled and expert instruction in the national academic community, and continues to shape young minds into some of the most influential and successful leaders in the world.
Eslam Ayoub looks back fondly on his time at UC Berkeley, as well as the many memories he made during his tenure as a graduate student.
The Importance Of Education: Eslam Ayoub
A career as a student isn’t for everyone, Eslam Ayoub agrees, however, according to Eslam Ayoub, the pursuit of higher education often results in significant advantages, albeit depending upon many variables, continues Eslam Ayoub.
The experience as a student held by Eslam Ayoub is considerable. As a graduate of the University of California, Berkley, where he obtained his Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, as well as a graduate of the University of Texas, Austin, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Eslam Ayoub holds 2 degrees from internationally renowned higher education institutions.
If you’re considering whether to go to college, whether as a first-time student or as a returning student, Eslam Ayoub wants you to know that making the choice to embark in a higher education career would be well worth the investment. According to Eslam Ayoub, education is the best asset that a professional in a great number of career tracks can have.
The importance of education is manifest throughout the corporate world, says Eslam Ayoub. As an active supporter and volunteer of the Engineers Without Borders-USA non-profit organization, Eslam Ayoub provides mentorship to a number of aspiring engineers, most of whom are currently enrolled at a college or university. Also, Eslam Ayoub is a major believer in ongoing education. According to Eslam Ayoub, education doesn’t have to end once you’ve obtained your graduate or undergraduate degree from a college or university. In fact, continues Eslam Ayoub, an education can consist of a wide-range of studies in an endless array of focuses, many if not most of which, explains Eslam Ayoub, are not exclusively taught at colleges or universities.
Designing Suspension Bridges, With Eslam Ayoub
The area and practice of designing suspension bridges is a highly specialized focus within the field of civil engineering, according to Eslam Ayoub. A graduate of the University of California, Berkley, Eslam Ayoub has led a highly successful career as a student. After earning his Masters’ degree in Civil Engineering from UC Berkley, Eslam Ayoub went on to lead a successful professional career.
As a highly skilled suspension bridge designer as well as solar energy specialist, Eslam Ayoub has utilized his abilities at a variety of companies, organizations, and other entities. Among the many projects that Eslam Ayoub has embarked upon as a suspension bridge designer is the Fontan Bridge, which is his most widely recognized suspension bridge design project. The Fontan Bridge is a road as well as a railroad bridge that is situated above the Chates River in the country of Uruguay.
Completed in early 2007, the Fontan Bridge was a mammoth project, according to Eslam Ayoub.
A variety of issues may often present themselves during the construction of a bridge, especially suspension bridges, according to Eslam Ayoub. One of the issues that effected the Fontan Bridge, in an unproductive way, explains Eslam Ayoub, were financial in nature. According to Eslam Ayoub, many bridge projects face challenges when the cost of actual production goes over the estimated production and construction costs.
Despite many hurdles, including those that are financial in nature as well as those that are inherent when dealing with large structures that cover large stretches of terrain, a considerable number of suspension bridges are successfully deployed every year, says Eslam Ayoub.
Eslam Ayoub: Conviction To Helping Others
Passionate about helping those less fortunate as well as promoting and supporting a variety of other good causes, Eslam Ayoub has an established history of commitment to a variety of nonprofit organizations. Eslam Ayoub believes that everyone should experience the enrichment that is gained from serving a worthy cause as a volunteer, advocate, and/or benefactor.
A long-time and strong supporter of Engineers Without Borders-USA, Eslam Ayoub has worked in various capacities with the nonprofit organization. In the area of structural design, Eslam Ayoub’s contributions to Engineers Without Borders-USA has been considerable. One of the most rewarding aspects of his volunteer work with Engineers Without Borders-USA, according to Eslam Ayoub Avoub, is the gratitude expressed by many beneficiaries of the program.
Eslam Ayoub wants you to know that you too can help others in a variety of ways, whether as a volunteer, advocate, donator, or in many other roles. Eslam Ayoub says that being able to utilize any special skills, experience, or other individual assets you may contribute is particularly mutually beneficial in that not only does the charity, nonprofit organization or other entity that represents a good cause benefit, but you yourself benefit from additional practice and experience related to the respective skill you utilize with the good cause, according to Eslam Ayoub.
Also, through service to one’s community, one can achieve a better understanding and appreciation of the lifestyles of those around them, which, according to Eslam Ayoub, can be very enlightening as well as enriching. Eslam Ayoub has a track-record of providing assistance to many individuals of various backgrounds in his capacity as a mentor.
Eslam Ayoub: The Fontan Bridge
Eslam Ayoub lives and works in the city of Midlothian, Texas, about half an hour from Dallas. Eslam Ayoub holds a graduate degree in civil engineering, which he earned from the University of California, Berkeley. After working for an engineering firm in Shreveport, Louisiana, for seven years, he returned to his native Texas and established an engineering firm of his own. “Having my own firm has been a lifelong dream,” he said, soon after opening.
Eslam Ayoub enjoys designing solar energy systems, and is an advocate of solar power. But he specializes in the design of suspension bridges. His best-known project to date is the Fontan Bridge, a road and railroad bridge over the Chatés River in Uruguay. The Fontan Suspension Bridge is three quarters of a mile from side to side, not counting its approaches, and is seven hundred feet above the Chatés River, a tributary to the Uruguay River.
“That project was a real bear,” Eslam Ayoub says today. “It presented problems on a scale I had never dealt with before, mainly in topography.” There were some cost issues, too, Eslam Ayoub acknowledges, although they were ironed out before construction even began. “Suspension bridges tend to be the most expensive to build.”
The Fontan Bridge was completed in early 2007. The Uruguayan invited Eslam Ayoub to attend its grand opening. He was presented with a certificate of appreciation, and allowed to cut the ribbon at its dedication. “I still have the scissors,” Eslam Ayoub says with a smile. “I keep them in a display case in my office.”
Eslam Ayoub: Engineers Without Borders-USA
Eslam Ayoub has been a civil engineer for nearly fifteen years. He is a graduate of engineering programs at the University of Texas in Austin, and the University of California at Berkeley, where he earned his graduate degree. For more than seven years, Eslam Ayoub was employed at an engineering firm in Shreveport, Louisiana, before returning to his native Texas to open his own firm.
During his career, Eslam Ayoub has specialized in the design of suspension bridges, and he has seen his designs implemented in the United States, South America, Africa, and Europe. He is also keenly interested in photovoltaic systems. He is convinced that solar power is a viable option to the world’s dependency on fossil fuels.
Most of his work in solar energy systems has been for commercial buildings. But Eslam Ayoub is a longtime mentor and volunteer with Engineers Without Borders-USA. Through that non-profit organization, Eslam Ayoub has built simple solar power systems under primitive conditions.
“Projects like that really open your eyes,” Eslam Ayoub says. “They force you to consider things you hadn’t considered before. For a PV system I designed for a civic center in Nicaragua I totally underestimated the load. We finished installing all the panels one day, we had it up and running by the time we quit. But when we came back the next morning there were all these people using the energy to charge their cell phones! I hadn’t even thought of that. It was an extra drain on the system, and in the end I had to add more power.”
Eslam Ayoub says his EWB experience has broadened his world view in ways that he could never have imagined.
