Important Information
Take Note!
Head Lice
I cringed as I typed this... but yes, it's true. Head lice has unfortunately made it to our room. A letter will be sent home today. Make sure to read it over!
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Words can't even begin to express how grateful Mrs. Barefoot and myself are for all the love we felt last week! We are so lucky to have such sweet little ones with amazing families!!!
Tuesday Folders
Tuesday Folders will not be sent home this week. Homework, papers, etc. will be sent home in your child's Red Folder.
mClass
Our mClass End of the Year Assessments will continue immediately when we track back in! I highly recommend working with your child over the break . This will be their last opportunity to show growth prior to 1st grade!
At the beginning of the year, a mClass parent letter was sent home briefly explaining the portions of the test. For a refresher click the link to our class webpage to find this document under the HOMEWORK & RESOURCES page. It wouldn't allow me to link a document file on this newsletter! :)
The kids did AMAZING on the DIBELS portion of our assessment! I'm beyond proud of their hard work! Please praise them for their hard work at home!!!
Math Assessments
When we return from track out, your child will also be assessed, in math, with the following assessments:
- End of the Year Math Benchmarks
- Number Knowledge Test
End of the Year Program
Our end of the year kindergarten celebration will be on Tuesday, June 28th. More information and specific times will be decided on as the date gets closer and I will pass that information on. Plan for mid-morning to early afternoon with a picnic lunch.
Lunch Menu Recall
There was a recall on all chicken products used in the cafeteria within Wake County. Any item on the menu, that contains chicken, will not be served until further notice.
EOG Proctors
IT'S THAT TIME!!
With testing right around the corner it is time to get prepared. Please help your HGES testing team and sign up to volunteer as an EOG testing Proctor. Training is mandatory to ensure the Testing Code of Ethics. The attached link will give you all the information that is needed for both training dates and volunteer times that are needed. Please remember that HGES is one of the largest schools in Wake County - we need many of volunteers to help our testing to run smoothly.
Memorable Day Celebration
We will be tracked out, but you are more than welcome to come!!! The deadline to submit names is May 20th. Remember to also fill in the Google Form with YOUR service members submissions! The link to the form is below.
Things to Remember
School Hours
Please be considerate of our school hours. Students are not to arrive, in the classroom, prior to 8:45. There is also no signing out students past 3:00pm.
Red Folders
It is crucial that someone is checking your child's Red Folder, daily! Important information can easily be missed when this is not happening. The behavior chart should be signed on a daily basis as well.
Personal Items
If you haven't already, send in your child's extra clothing (seasonal appropriate), headphones/earbuds, and personal books, for their book bins.
Lunch Bunch
Lunch Time: 12:20-12:50
It's best to arrive 5-10 minutes before our assigned lunch time. You can wait for us near the cafeteria or front office. Please have them lined up, with the class, by 12:50.
