PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Bidwell Families,
Has your student noticed a difference on campus this past week with respect to cussing and overall kindness? Our team of adult and student leaders is addressing these issues head-on based on student, staff, and parent input. We want to know if what we’re doing is making a difference or if we need to make further adjustments. School climate plays a huge role in how students learn: if they don’t feel physically and emotionally safe, learning tends to suffer. A kind and respectful campus climate helps us to bring out the best in each other every day. That is The Bidwell Way.
As we approach the middle of the fall season and all its sugar-coated fun, the Bidwell Team would like to invite you to our Bidwell Family Turkey Feast on November 14th during your students’ regularly-scheduled lunch (11:34-12:10 for first lunch, 12:24-1:00 for second lunch). Student meals are free and adult meals are only $2.00. The food is hot and tasty. Come and have lunch with your students on November 14th. I will be checking in with as many of you as possible during the luncheon to solicit your input on how to improve the Bidwell experience for every student.
I can’t say it enough: please shoot me a text, email, or phone call if you suspect that your student doesn’t feel physically and emotionally safe at school. With proactive communication, we can usually nip problems in the bud before they become full-blown crisis.
Respectfully,
David S. McKay

IT'S RED RIBBON WEEK!
Each day this week, we will be sharing drug facts and the effects they have in our lives during the morning announcements. Our K.L.E.A.N. (Kids Leading Everyone Against Nicotine) group will be promoting anti-drug activities during one or both lunches during this week. Stay tuned for the info and sign-ups! On Monday, there will be chalk art along the MPR area kicking off Red Ribbon Week - thank you to Mr. Riggs and his creative students for their artistic talents! Pioneers, please respect the art; let us see if we can have it stay all week!
BOO!
Mrs. Jimmerson's 6th grade English class listened to, read, and annoted a scary story with Ms. Jones, our Teacher Librarian.
