“Commander In Chief” is a term commonly used for the president of the United States. But it’s only one of several titles conferred on the nation's chief executive. Commander In Chief refers to the president’s duties as head of the U.S. armed forces: the Air Force, Army, Navy and Marines. The U.S. Constitution establishes this power for the president. The Constitution states that the president is commander in chief of the armed forces. This means that the president—a civilian—controls the entire American military. Civilian control of the military has been a cornerstone of the United States since its founding. As commander in chief, the president can send troops into battle without a formal declaration of war from Congress and has final authority over military operations. During wartime, the president’s powers expand dramatically: Most Americans willingly grant the president a great deal of freedom in order to win the war. During World War I, for example, the Wilson Administration rationed food and important materials and, with the media’s cooperation, controlled the news. The president's most important duty as commander in chief is to defend the United States, its territories and possessions and its armed forces, from attack. Domestically, this may mean using or threatening to use force to make sure that laws are faithfully executed, as George Washington did when he rode out at the head of a column of troops to put down the Whiskey Rebellion, as Andrew Jackson did in 1832 when he threatened to use force against South Carolina if it did not permit collection of the tariff, and as Abraham Lincoln did to end the secession of Southern states. Presidents may also use the armed forces to maintain “the peace of the United States,” as several presidents in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries did in enforcing district court injunctions against striking miners and railway workers.

Chief Legislature
sets public policy Through Union, initiates suggests, requests, insists, and demands legislation. Campaignes and lobbies for certian bills to be passed. Prop #s
As the Chief Legislator, the president has many duties. One of the more public duties is to give the State of the Union address to Congress and the American public. Another duty is to meet with foreign ambassadors and other public officials. The president also carries out his duties as Chief Legislator in semi-private interactions with Congress, such as encouraging Congress to pass certain bills or take specific actions. When Congress does pass bills, the president reviews each bill and decides whether to sign it into law or veto it. A veto is the president's constitutional power to reject a bill passed by Congress that he does not agree with. If a bill is signed into law by the president, then as Chief Legislator, he must ensure it is faithfully enforced. He also reviews and signs every commission sent to him by Congress for the appointment of officers of the United States, such as federal judges, the Attorney General, and the Secretary of Defense. On rare occasions, a president will assert his Chief Legislator power by convening Congress as a whole, or the Senate or House separately, in order for them to consider certain immediate matters. Or, in the case of a disagreement between the House or Senate, the president may adjourn both the Senate and House for a specified period if he deems it appropriate.

Annually meets with the VP, secretaries of Defence, state and security. and Joint Chief of Staff.
Term for the president as vested with the executive power of the US. Chief administrative officers are high-level executives who supervise the daily operations of a business and are ultimately responsible for the performance of the departments they manage. Found across all industries and in both the non-profit and publicly traded sectors, these management professionals are experts at making businesses function efficiently. A chief administrative officer (CAO) is a top-tier executive who most often reports to the chief executive officer (CEO). The CAO manages the day-to-day operations of a business, and is sometimes referred to as the chief operating officer. The scope of this position depends largely on the size of the business and the industry in which it operates. However, a CAO usually manages numerous branches of the business, including finance, sales, human resources and marketing. Educational requirements for this position differ across industries; some companies will require an undergraduate or advanced degree in the field in which the business operates, and some will require more general business study. Either way, a solid background in business administration education is a must for any CAO. Substantial industry experience is also required. This baccalaureate degree program is found at many 4-year universities. Graduates will have solid business administration skills and will be prepared to work in management in any industry. Courses focus on problem-solving and decision-making, and good communications skills are heavily emphasized. Students will have exposure to all of the crucial functions key to operating a business.

The role of chief citizen is also known as the role of chief of state. The main purpose of this role is for the president to be an inspiration to the American people for the republic of the United States. In other nations, the role of chief of state or chief citizen would be the king or queen, but in the U.S. it is the president. He or she stands for the people and is supposed to be the living symbol of the U.S. Some of his or her responsibilities include congratulating, awarding, greeting, and speechmaking to the American public and keeping patriotism alive and well. The president has seven total primary functions in the republic. These roles include the role of chief citizen (or head of state), chief executive, chief diplomat, commander-in-chief, chief legislator, chief of party, and chief guardian of the economy. These are the roles that the president inhabits and they detail the kind of influence that the president can have from the White House. When people vote for the president, they are voting for the person who will inhabit these roles for their country.
