Martin Luther King Jr. Day Of Service
The CB Cares committee will be hosting a voluntary Martin Luther King Jr day of service on January 19th. Any child can help participate in an activity during their recess. The activities include sorting books for Philadelphia Reads, sorting can goods for the local food bank, coloring quilt squares, making rainbow loom bracelets for Poverty Resolutions and creating snack bags.
We are going to be collecting books, canned good and non perishable food items, and school supplies ( crayons, markers, pencils, etc.) Boxes will be outside the old office starting January 4th.
Outdoor/Indoor Recess
The decision to go out or remain indoors for recess is made by Mr. Testani, in concert with our medical staff, based on weather conditions. The goal is to allow the children to play outside whenever the weather conditions permit. The wind-chill factor is the primary factor. The children remain outside for the full recess period provided the wind-chill is above 15 degrees. A wind-chill of between 10 and 15 degrees will result in an abbreviated outdoor recess. The children will have indoor recess in the event of rain, snow, or wind chills below 10 degrees.
