Voice Awards 2019
This year, Dan Stevens, founder and creator of this night, opened the evening with big news about the longevity of this program which is now in its 15th year. Voice Awards applied for--and received--a grant through the Freeport Community Foundation. For the full explanation from Dan himself, watch the first video below. And huge congratulations to Dan and all those who help him make the Voice Awards a reality every year--and for years to come!
As in years' past, Aquin had many nominees in the 'big' categories--and being nominated is quite an honor. Aquin's nominees were:
- Lead Actress in a Musical: Kamryn Steil
- Lead Actress: Zeita Gastel and Madelyn McIntyre
There are other awards given out prior to the 'big' awards. This year, Aquin received 2 of those awards.
- Director Steve Hotchkiss received the 'Administrative Award' for coming back to direct after thinking about 'retiring' and going through hip replacement surgery during BOTH productions.
- Madelyn McIntyre received the 'Small Part Award' for her fine performance of 'Madame Vodvaskaya' in our fall production 'The Gift of the Magi'.
*Special Note: Congrats to Hailey Johnson, (daughter of Mrs. Amy Johnson, Aquin 5th Grade Teacher) for winning 'Supporting Actress in a Musical' and also being part of the EPC Co-op who claimed the 'Best Production Number' of the evening. Way to go!
