Weekly Eagle Update
August 30th - September 3rd
Hello BOES Families!
We had a fantastic week at BOES! It has been wonderful visiting all of our classrooms and seeing high-quality teaching and learning and student engagement taking place in all of our classrooms. We are settling into routines and really enjoying being back in school.
Thank you to all of you that attended Back to School Night. I hope you found the evening informative and helpful. I know that having to do it virtually is a challenge for all and I am looking forward to next year when we can be face to face. (Hopefully!)
Have a great week! Thank you for your continued support!
i-Ready
All AUSD students will begin to take our new i-Ready diagnostic assessment this week. This assessment is given in both math and reading and takes the place of our MAP test. Once the students complete the diagnostic, they are given a personalized learning plan with skills practice within the i-Ready program. The assessment results also help the teachers drive their instruction as they will have a clear understanding of where each child is performing academically. More information about i-Ready can be found in the link below.
Parking Lot Reminders
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding with our parking lot. We have already noticed it getting better. A few reminders to help it run smoothly:
- Pull all the way forward when dropping off and picking up.
- Do not get out of your car and make sure your child is ready to hop out right away.
- Turn RIGHT ONLY out of the parking lot.
- When merging with the other lane, pull up close to the dumpsters and merge at that point.
- Use the crosswalks when walking across the round-a-bout.
Thank you!!!

School Site Council
It is that time of the year again where we nominate new members to our School Site Council. We have two open positions this year that we need parents to fill. Please see the Google Form below for more information.
Chromebook Insurance
Please make sure that you have purchased your Chromebook Insurance by September 3rd using the link below. Insurance needs to be purchased yearly. Thank you!
Book Fair
The book fair is this week!! As a reminder, only students will be allowed to shop at the book fair and it will not be open before or after school. Please see the schedule below of your student's assigned book fair times.
No Place for Hate
All of AUSD schools will be working towards becoming No Place for Hate certified schools. We will be focusing on the anti-bullying component of this program only and we will be completing three main school-wide activities this year that will help reinforce anti-bullying. For our first activity, we will be creating self-portraits that will form a huge school-wide mural. Additionally, we will be learning the No Place for Hate Pledge in our classrooms. Our No Place for Hate Pledge is as follows:
Water Bottles
Please make sure you are sending a water bottle daily with your child. We HIGHLY suggest that your child always has an extra one at school that they fill up from the water bottle refilling stations.
BOES Job Opportunities
We have a variety of part-time positions open at BOES that are perfect for parents wanting to work for just a few hours a day while their kids are at school. If you are interested or know someone who is interested, please click on the link below.
