HIGHLIGHTS FROM OUR INTERNET SAFETY PRESENTATION
Presenter, Amanda Fowle, the Assistant District Attorney & Family Protection Unit Director of Human Trafficking Prosecution for the Plymouth County DA's office presented to parents this week.
The presentation focused on being smart in how parents and children use the internet, and what the consequences are for decisions that are made. The presentation discussed various social media apps, an overview of how social media works on different devices, privacy settings and concerns. It went over parent responsibilities and liabilities when it comes to children having electronics, and what parents can do to help keep their children be safe.
Amanda Fowle will present to our students on Tuesday, November 20th. Be sure to ask your student about the presentation--what was learned? What are common mistakes some kids make with their social media use? What steps do they take to keep their info private and secure? This is a great opportunity to have a rich and critical conversation with your teenager.
