Student Spotlight
Royal Oak Jazz Bands Receive Highest Ratings
The same night the Royal Oak Jazz Band and the Royal Oak Jazz Collective also received first division ratings- wowing the audiences with their incredibly improvisational skills!
Middle School Solo & Ensemble Festival
On April 13th, ROMS Band students had the opportunity to perform at the District IV Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association Solo and Ensemble Festival. Eighth graders Sam Humphrey (tuba), Troy Jesse (trumpet), Giulia Pierce (trumpet), and Nicholas Tschirhart (trombone), and seventh grader Ezra Navin (trumpet) all earned "I" or "Superior" ratings for their solo performances. Eight graders Elijah Kocis (tuba solo), James Walker, and Dan Webb (French Horn duet), and seventh grader Evelyn McKinney (trumpet solo) all earned "II" or "Excellent" ratings for their performances.
Middle School Honors Band
On April 27th, eight ROMS band students performed in the District IV MSBOA Honors Bands. Eighth graders Madi Boyajian (trumpet), Iris Breton (trombone), Emma Czarnik (trumpet), Sam Humphrey (tuba), and Emerson Murphy (alto saxophone), along with seventh graders Kinley Kelly (alto saxophone) and Clara Veale (French horn) were nominated by their directors and selected for the honors groups.

Please note there are colors associated with each ensemble, so if a student would like to purchase a hoodie, they're encouraged to get a hoodie in their ensemble's coordinating color:
