Solar Eclipse
AJH Solar Eclipse Day 2024
Thank you PTSA for making this day so memorable for our students. The Moon Pies, Capri Suns and Eclipse glasses purchased by our wonderful PTSA brought joy to both students and staff. As the Eclipse unfolded, our students erupted in cheers and excitement. Thank you, PTSA, for consistently collaborating with us to provide our students with extraordinary learning experiences!
STAAR Information
STAAR testing begins tomorrow! Please see the schedule for specific dates. Make up days will follow each subject area i.e.. reading make ups are Tuesday, April 16th.
Please try your best to schedule appointments around testing days. These are typically each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in April. If your student is testing that day, they will not be able to be pulled out until after 12:15. Thank you for understanding!
Students will find their testing room assignment the day before each test in their advisory class and by using QR codes hung in the hallways.
The students are either:
- TAKING a test and will stay in that room 1st-5th period, or you are NOT taking a test and will need to figure out where you go each period.
- If your teacher is NOT involved with testing that period, you will either go to your normal room for class or you will go to a different room and meet your teacher there for class. Those different rooms that you need to go to will be posted around the building to help you.
- If your teacher IS involved with testing that period and you are not testing, you will go to a certain location with a different teacher. Signs will be posted to help you.
We will be following an alternate bell schedule, and everyone will go back to normal classes starting 6th period each test day. Students who are testing will have the last two lunches depending on their testing room, starting at 12:35.
On your testing day, make sure you get a good night’s sleep and eat breakfast! Good luck! 😊

SafetyProtocol Update: Gov't -Issued IDs Effective April 8th
Dear Katy ISD Parents/Guardians and Staff,
As Katy ISD continues its review of safety practices and protocols, it's essential to stress the significance of physical/hard copy government-issued identifications* for accessing campuses/facilities, student registration, and student pickup. The district is strictly enforcing this requirement and will no longer accept paper or digital copies of driver's licenses, visas, and passports at any of its campuses or facilities, for these purposes.
We greatly appreciate our community's cooperation with these safety procedures and your ongoing partnership in maintaining safe and secure environments across Katy ISD campuses and facilities.
Katy ISD
*For our community’s reference, below are examples of acceptable government-issued identifications.
