To Kill a Mockingbird is a book about racial segregation. The story takes place in a small southern town and tells about a rape trial. Harper won the Pulitzer Prize in 1960 for her book.

Why do we still read the book today?
We still read To Kill a Mockingbird today so people can read about what it was like in the past with the racial struggle. We also read so we will never forget what it was like to live in a place like in To Kill a Mockingbird and to make sure that it won't happen again.
