Junior High Choir Auditions!
Current 6th Grade students,
Don’t miss an awesome opportunity to be in choir at the Junior High next year! The junior high choir has a long standing tradition of excellence with close to FOUR HUNDRED singers. They are looking to add many amazing 6th graders to their choirs. Students do not have to be in choir this year to participate in choir at the Junior High. Deborah Stein and Jesse Callahan, SJH choir directors, will be visiting our Virtual and Face to Face 6th grade choirs and General Music classes in the next couple of weeks to provide more information and audition the students. All safety precautions, including social distancing and masks, will be followed. Interested 6th grade students who are NOT in general music/choir this year should audition on Thursday, February 11th from 3:00-3:30 in the choir room at EH Greene or join us on Google Meet with their school chromebook using code “SJHCHOIR”. Students should have transportation to pick them up at 3:30. Virtual students are welcome to come in on the 11th if they would like to audition face to face. All interested 6th graders are encouraged to join the Google Classroom for more information about choir auditions and to fill out the audition form prior to their audition. Click on Rising 7th Grade Choir Auditions to join the Google Classroom. You may email either Mrs. Stein or Mr. Callahan (steind@sycamoreschools.org or callahanj@sycamoreschools.org) if you have any additional questions. Go Aviators!

Attention: Parents of 6th Grade Students
Two immunizations are required by the state of Ohio (ORC 3313.67) before the start of 7th grade. Tdap (tetanus, diptheria, and pertussis booster) and Meningitis (MCV4). Your child may already have had them at their 11 year old check up. If so please obtain a copy of those immunizations. If not, please make an appointment for your students to get these two immunizations. Once you have obtained copies of TDAP and MCV4, send them to Laurie Dobrowolski RN at E.H. PEBT
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently authorized the Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) through the 2020-2021 school year. To qualify for P-EBT during the 2020-2021 school year, children must be approved for free or reduced-price meals either in the 2019-2020 or the 2020-2021 school years.
If families qualify for free or reduced price meals LAST school year and you have not filled out a form yet for the 2020-21 school year, it is important that you fill out a form again this school year if you feel you will qualify.
If families did not qualify for free and reduced priced meals last school year but believe they might this school year due to financial changes during this unprecedented time please fill out a free and reduced price meal application online here. Any families who qualify this school year will not only receive P-EBT for each student they have in the district, but also receive free or reduced priced meals for the first 30 days of next school year.
We understand that everyone is receiving free meals this school year, but filling out this form is necessary for ANY other benefit that it provides - this includes but is not limited to the P-EBT through ODJFS, fee waivers, extracurricular waivers, building assistance programs, etc.
More information on filling out a free and reduced price meal application can be found here.
Contact the Child Nutrition Department with any further questions. (513) 686-1796.

Greene School Yearbook - Uploading photos and ordering information
We realize this has been a most challenging school year and we would like you to help us with our yearbook photos. We want to ensure that all of our Greene students appear in the yearbook, and we would also like to show what student life has been like at the Greene School.
If your student was not photographed during our two fall picture days, you may upload a portrait to a website, which Jostens has created for Greene School photos. Please be sure to include name, grade, and homeroom. The website allows parents to upload photos directly to our yearbook "library." You will "choose a file", enter your email address, and fill in the requested information. Also, if you have any photos of your student(s) engaging in school sponsored activities, you may also upload those photos as well. Here is the website.
https://images.memoryebooks.com/416174110.
This website will be available until March 15, 2021. Thank you for your assistance in making the Greene School yearbook a memorable one!
Also, you will soon be able to order a 2020-2021 Greene School yearbook! Starting February 19th, the Jostens website will be "open" and you can place your order. As we get closer to that date, we will have more details and will provide the link for you to use. Ordering will close at the end of March.

PTO New Year Volunteer Opportunities
If you are are interested in getting more involved in the Greene School and PTO this year, there are a few opportunities:
Most of our traditional PTO programs have had to be canceled this school year, but there are a few open Chair positions:
Wellness Week - Looking for one ore more parents who would be interested in planning and executing a plan for Wellness Week activities for Greene School students and staff.
Community Outreach - Planning and organizing drives or activities to benefit the less fortunate in our community, most recently providing a Teacher Appreciation Luncheon for teachers at Winton Woods Academy
Arts Alive - Are you passionate about the arts? Traditionally every other year the PTO sponsors a weeklong celebration of the arts by bringing in a plethora of various artists and performers during lunch. This year we are unable to conduct the program as we have in the past, but there is an opportunity to plan and execute something virtually.
Contact Betsy Rinehart or Kathy Mercurio at grptovpprog@sycamoreschools.org for more information.
