From the Magnet School Director
As I am writing this we are enjoying a great time with our Hawk Family at our annual PTA Fiesta. Thank you so much to the parent volunteers and your generous donation of eggs for the cascarones booth.
We don’t slow down here at Hobby Health Science Magnet so I am going to remind everyone about our next event. Saturday April 20th we are hosting our first Annual Health Science Health Fair from 9-1. We are asking that every student participate in at least one shift as many hands make light work. We need more volunteers especially from 12:00-2:00. Please sign your child up if you haven’t already done so. Sign up Genius We could use a few helpers Friday afterschool to start setting up- email Mrs. Heye if that is something they can help with.
In addition to vendors, exercise classes and displays of student work the Health Fair will be benefiting our local community in the following ways:
We are seeking adults willing to donate blood. Say YES here by signing up Bloodbank
In partnership with Methodist Hospital we are participating in the Rowan Windham Memorial Cereal Drive- Please bring a box (or 2) of cereal to donate to this worthy cause.
We will also be a drop off location for Dr. Beitchman’s Spring for a Teddy Bear of Love Project.
Is your student signed up for athletics next year? Our amazing coaches have organized an opportunity for them to get their sports physicals for only $20 during our Health Science Health Fair.
As you can see there are many opportunities to teach our students the value of community service. Thank you for your support in helping us make this event a success. We look forward to seeing everyone on April 20th !
