Sierra Verde Weekly Update
November 20, 2020
We Give Thanks
Thank you all for a fantastic week and for such an amazing display of talent and support on Saturday. With your help, we were able to raise close to $20,000 for our campus virtually this month. We have also created a community "Padlet" for you to take some time and leave a thankful note. If someone at SV has made a difference, or an impact on you, take a minute to give them a shout out here on our SV Padlet. Just click the "+" button in the bottom corner and add a note of thanks. We are so appreciative of the help and support of our outstanding community this year through all the struggles of 2020.
As we enter the Thanksgiving recess, we want to remind all our parents that we will be returning to campus on Nov. 30. DVUSD is committed to learning on campus while fully implementing our safety, sanitation, and mitigation procedures. The district will continue to follow the advice from Maricopa County based on data. We are thankful to the entire Viper community for doing their part to ensure our campus is as safe as possible.
PTSO Update
Greetings One & All!
We are so excited to announce that with your help we raised over $19,000 for Sierra Verde!! THANK YOU to everyone who donated, participated, contributed, or cheered us on! We couldn't do it without you. #anythingispossible
Don't forget, we've shifted to ONE BIG FUNDRAISER for the year and will continue to accept donations here. You can also donate via Venmo @SierraVerdePTSO and on our website.
As always, BIG shout out to our FANTASTIC Business Partners! You'll be hearing more about them and all they do to support our community as the year continues. #bettertogether

DVUSD Low Threshold for Illness
We continue to follow our "low threshold for illness" policy in effect for students and staff this year. The main issue you see below is that any Covid symptoms such as cough, runny nose, or fever will require 10 days out of school OR a negative Covid test to return back to campus after symptoms have subsided and you have been fever free for at least 24 hours. This policy is mandatory for all students across DVUSD, and we will not be able to make exceptions or exclusions.
We also wanted to remind everyone that if anyone in your immediate household tests positive, please use the district reporting tool to allow us to contact trace any other student's who may need to isolate based on close contact.
Mrs. Zvara's Donor's Choose
Open Air Seating for Outdoor Learning
This picnic table will allow the fourth grade students to work on assignments and group work in a safe outdoor learning space. This frees up room in the classroom for social distancing while students work on independent tasks. The table will also provide a location for students who are struggling to be pulled out for individual or small group instruction as needed. Math can sometimes be a struggle but in the open air of our outdoor grassy area students will have the freedom to ask questions and work problems out in small groups.
Free Breakfast and Lunch All Year!
Have a Safe & Break! See you Nov. 30
