Personal Care and Beauty Recycling Program
As a Green School, we are always trying to improve our efforts to become "greener." Cedar Grove will continue our recycling program for empty containers of bath items. Families' donations of recyclable bath items, such as packaging for hair and skin care, as well as cosmetics, will help our fundraising efforts. Through the end of this year, students can bring in their empty and rinsed recyclable containers and receive a ticket for each item. At the end of the month two students will be chosen to select a prize. Cedar Grove receives a small credit for recycling these items that help fund green projects on school grounds. Students can drop off these items in Mrs. Anderson’s Kindergarten classroom.
Accepted Items for the Personal Care and Beauty Recycling Program:
1. Hair care packaging such as shampoo bottles and caps, conditioner bottles and caps, hair gel tubes and caps, hair spray bottles and triggers, and hair paste plastic jars and caps.
2. Skin care packaging such as lip balm tubes, face soap dispensers and tubes, face lotion bottles, tubes and plastic jars, body wash containers, soap tubes and dispensers, body lotion dispensers and bottles, shaving foam tubes (no cans), and hand lotion bottles and tubes
3. Cosmetics packaging such as lipstick cases, lip gloss tubes, mascara tubes, eye shadow cases, bronzer cases, foundation packaging and bottles, powder cases, eyeliner cases, eyeliner pencils, eyeshadow tubes, concealer tubes, concealer sticks, and lip liner pencils
Please Note: aerosol cans, nail polish bottles and nail polish remover bottles ARE NOT acceptable.
