March 15, 2024
Leading ALL Students to College, Career, and Civic Readiness
From CLMS Principal, Mr. Eric Pettit
Good Afternoon CLMS Families!
This coming Tuesday marks the first day of spring and everyone at CLMS is excited for warmer weather more sunlight! Next Friday marks the end of our 3rd grading period. Students and families should review PowerSchool for the latest information surrounding progress in each course. There are several activities, performances, competitions, and celebrations that will take place over the final quarter and we are excited to celebrate our students!
Our final round of Parent/Teacher Conferences is on Thursday, March 21st. The information on how to sign up is included in the newsletter below. Additionally, there is information on the upcoming Solar Eclipse, the inaugural "Sailing Up to Middle School" event for 4th grade families, yearbook ordering information (time is running out to order!), and more!
This will be the final family update prior to Spring Break, which runs from March 25th-March 29th. During Spring Break, the CLMS office will have limited hours. We will be happy to respond to any communications when school resumes on Monday, April 1st! We hope you and your family have a safe and relaxing Spring Break!
As always, Go Pirates!

CLMS Classroom Highlight: Solar Eclipse
CLMS students have been learning about the upcoming solar eclipse. On April 8th, there will be a rare celestial event of a solar eclipse, where the moon will pass between the Earth and the Sun, partially or fully blocking the Sun's light. It will offer a unique opportunity to witness the beauty and power of our solar system. While precautions are necessary to safely observe this phenomenon, it's an unforgettable experience that sparks curiosity. On Monday, students from the SAIL program and Science club shared a presentation with the Board of Education describing this event. As a reminder, CLLS does not have school on April 8th. CLLS has purchased Eclipse glasses for all students. They will be distributed sometime after spring break.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
Below are the links for our final round of Parent/Teacher conferences. If you have already confirmed a conference time with a teacher, you do not need to sign up with the links below. If you are unable to attend any of the available slots but would still like to meet with your student’s teachers, please email your child’s teachers to make other arrangements. The sign-ups will close at 11am on Wednesday, March 20th. This is our final round of conferences for the 2023/24 school year.
