Dear Rock Bridge High School Families:
Columbia Public Schools has begun preparations for the 2021-2022 school year. Annually, parents/guardians must complete registration updates and family connection sign ups. Completing this process is required for families so they may be able to access their student schedules prior to the start of the school year.
To get started, log in to the CPS Families Portal (https://launchpad.classlink.com/cpsfamilies) with your CPS-issued 6-digit guardian ID and password. A guardian ID reminder message was sent to guardians on June 25.

In the CPS Families Portal you will have access to:
- Guardian acknowledgements
- School registration update
- 2021-22 school year schedule (Once you have completed all the tasked required, your student’s schedule will be available the evening of August 17, 2021. After the school has reviewed the information they will reach out to you if additional information is needed. Note that students with complete schedules upon release on August 17 cannot request schedule changes until Wednesday, August 26th.)
For technical assistance with the registration update or the CPS Families Portal, please contact the CPS Helpdesk at Helpdesk@cpsk12.org or 573-214-3333.

RBHS General Information
Back to School Connections
THURSDAY AUGUST 19th 5:00 to 7:00 pm
Our Back to School Connections will serve two main purposes.
- Families who are unable to register online, can come to RBHS during this 2 hour window and receive technical support for this process. We will have CPS staff members and computers available to assist families in this process. Student schedules will not be available for families before August 18th. Families who do not complete the online registration process will not be able to receive their class schedule prior to the start of school.
- All incoming 9th graders and families new to Rock Bridge are invited for a brief general information presentation and a chance to walk our building. Families who have registered online already will have their student schedule available them at this time through the portal. We will not have printed schedules available, so be sure to bring a picture or a copy of your student's schedule. Presentations will be in the Main Gym at 5:00 and 6:40. The presentation will be the same for both, so please attend the one that works best with your families' schedule.
Families will also have an opportunity at this event to purchase RBHS Spirit wear from our Booster Club, speak directly to representatives from Food Services and Student Transportation of America, and visit the RBHS Media Center for a brief laptop orientation and to learn more about Home Access, the Parent Portal, and print and digital resources available for students.
Jump Start Day for Class of 2025
MONDAY AUGUST 23rd 8:55 to 1:30
RBHS 9th Graders, be sure you have this date on your calendar! You will have a chance to meet your teachers, counselors, administrators, walk your full schedule, check out your computer and be apart of the RBHS famous roller-coaster! This day is designed to allow you to learn about our building without upperclassmen present. THIS IS YOUR DAY, so be sure to take advantage of this opportunity!
For more information be watching the RBHS website.
New to Rock Bridge High School?
School Pictures
We will hold school photos on August 24th during the school day in the RBHS Auxiliary Gym. Wagner Photography will be our school picture vendor for the 2021-2022 school year. When we get closer to our photography date, we will send out a link to the web portal to order school photos. This year, we will not be sending home paper order forms for school photos. Please watch your email communications or the school website for this link once it becomes available.
The Current CPS COVID Parameters
As of July 9th, these are the parameters CPS will be using for contact tracing with COVID exposures of staff and students.
- Contact tracing is done for those not wearing a mask within 3 feet of the positive individual indoors for a cumulative time of 15 minutes or more within a 24-hour period.
- Quarantine is NOT required for fully vaccinated individuals who have no symptoms. You are considered fully vaccinated if:
- It has been 2 weeks since your second dose in a 2-dose series, of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
- It has been 2 weeks since your single-dose vaccine, of the Johnson & Johnson’s vaccine
- Quarantine is NOT required if the individual exposed was wearing a mask indoors and they have no symptoms.
- The district will continue with a 10-day quarantine if an individual is exposed to the virus or a 7-day quarantine if the individual obtains a negative PCR test (available through local health providers) between days 5 and 7 and shows no symptoms. Both the 10-day and the 7-day quarantine protocols also require an individual to wear a mask through day 14.
If your RBHS student receives the COVID vaccine, we recommend that you share documentation of that vaccine with the nurses’ office to be added to your child’s school immunization record. Record can be faxed to 214-3109 or emailed to Tammy Adkins at tadkins@cpsk12.org or Danielle Lamm at dlamm@cpsk12.org

2021/2022 School Parking and Entrance Procedures
Student Parking and Entrance
Almost all student parking spaces will be in the North Parking Lot. The North Entrance will be the entrance for students during the school day. There will be approximately 50 student parking spaces in the South Parking Lot. Each is marked with a painted yellow Bruin. These student spaces in the South Parking Lot will be available on a first come first serve basis each day. Students who park in the South Parking Lot will need to enter the school through the East Main Circle Drive Entrance.
Visitor Parking and Entrance
Visitors to Rock Bridge High School can park in the circle drive or along the east side of our South Parking Lot. We recommend that visitors planning a short visit to our school refrain from parking in the circle drive between 3:30 and 4:15 as our circle drive will be prioritized for school busses at that time. Cars parked in the visitor spaces during this time will not be free to leave until the busses exit our campus. Visitors to RBHS during the day should plan to enter the building at the East Main Circle Drive Entrance.
Parent Drop-off and Pick-up
Rock Bridge Families, getting in and out of our school at the beginning or end of day can be a challenge. Please read the following so you can assist in making this process as smooth as possible for all RBHS stakeholders.
Parent Drop-off
Morning drop off should occur at the East Circle Drive. This is the same location that bus drop off will be occurring. Parents dropping off their students should remain in the left lane of the circle drive. Busses will be asked to remain on the right at this time.
Parent Pick-up
Following the conclusion of the school day, parent pick up will occur at the South Parking Lot. It is common for there to be considerable congestion in all entries and exits at the end of our school day. Please consider picking up your child after our busses have exited the circle drive at 4:15. After 4:15 you can pick your child up at any location on the RBHS property.

Rock Bridge High School PTSA
On behalf of the new and returning officers of the Parent Teacher Student Association, welcome to the 2021-2022 school year at RBHS! We wish all students, teachers, and staff a productive and positive school year and welcome parent and family involvement at RBHS. We have the opportunity to reclaim traditions and make fresh starts showing our support and continuing to fund the various programs that PTSA sponsors at RBHS.
Whether your student is a new, returning, or just having their first in-person experience at RBHS, we encourage you to learn as much as you can about “how things work” in our school community so you are able to help and encourage your student’s involvement. We invite you to show you care about your student and their school by becoming more involved in discussing what happens at school, staying informed, and volunteering in whatever way you can. Please read the RBHS PTSA Welcome Letter (below) to learn some of the many ways you can stay informed and get involved in supporting your student at RBHS.
