A Note from the Principal
I just wanted to take a few moment to brag on our teachers here at Monroe Elementary School. They are exactly the kind of jump in, git 'er done, "We can do this!" kind of people that I know I would want taking care of my own kids or grandkids. They are the kind of people that no matter whether it's a good day or bad day, they are still there doing what's best for our kids.
Monday, April 22, was one of those days that could have been bad one. Because of the big storm and strong winds we had over Easter weekend, Monroe was without internet all day that Monday. This may seem like a small thing, but MAP testing, ST Math, EPIC, and other online programs are an integral part of how we teach every day. Luckily, we knew on Saturday that we would be without internet for at least part of the day. We got the message out to teachers to plan accordingly right away.
Come the 22nd, our staff rearranged the MAP testing schedule and had alternate lesson plans before students even arrived. Looking at the pictures posted below, you'll see that learning still happened that day with no fuss! I even heard one teacher say how fun it was to play a math game with her students that she never gets to play.
Way to go, Monroe Elementary!!
