Survey Says:
This week, we surveyed students to find out if they would rather wear fuzzy socks or slippers? For many, it was an easy vote with 77 votes for slippers and 28 votes for fuzzy socks. Did you know, that the inventors of the house slipper were Florence Melton and Alvin Slipper back in the 14th century?

What does CCA mean to you?

Chapel
On Friday, chapel was opened with pledges, singing and prayer by the freshmen class. Pastor Pat Findley from First Baptist Church Clinton brought us the message about Mary and Martha. Pastor Pat began by asking us if we loved riddles? Then he shared this one, "I am free, yet priceless. You can't own me, but you can use me. You can't keep me, but you can spin me. Once you've lost me, you can't have me back." The answer is Time. God knows what He is doing. If God is giving us enough time, then why do we feel like we don't have enough?
In Luke 10:38, Martha welcomed Jesus into her, Mary and Lazarus' home. Jesus loves this family. Martha was busy preparing the best dinner; however, Mary was sitting at Jesus' feet listening to Him. Martha was busy and stressed, all she wanted was some help. Martha tells Jesus to tell Mary to help her. She is frustrated that Mary is not helping with the meal. Jesus says, Martha, Martha, you are so distracted, but one thing is necessary, verse 42.
God wants us to do things for Him, but that needs to come after you spend time with the Lord. Mary chose the better portion, something that cannot be taken away from her. If you want more time, then Pastor Pat encourages us to spend more time with Jesus. If you waste time with Jesus, you will have more time. Spend time with Him through His word and make Jesus a priority. Pastor Pat ended chapel with a poem by C.T. Studd called, "Only One Life."
Thank you Pastor Pat for blessing CCA with your message at chapel this past Friday.
Happy Birthday Students & CCA Staff
