New MIS Building Entry Safety Procedures
Starting in the 2023-2024 school year, in the interest of student safety, entry to the main part of the building here at MIS will be limited to individuals who have a pre-scheduled meeting with MIS staff, or for events to which families are invited.
From this point forward, please follow these procedures for any other building visit purpose:
Ring the bell to be admitted to the vestibule. You will not be admitted beyond this point without a pre-scheduled meeting / event. You will be asked for your name, your child’s name, and the reason for your visit.
If you need to drop off any items to your student (i.e. lunch, materials, phone, etc.), please fill out the drop-off slip, then tape or secure the slip to the item(s), and put it on the table. If it is paperwork, place it into the provided folder in the vestibule. We will be sure to retrieve it and/or deliver the item(s) to your student as soon as possible. **Please know that the vestibule is under clear video surveillance to ensure the security of the belongings left on the shelves.**
If you need to pick up your student, please complete the digital sign-out form on the Chromebook stationed in the vestibule, and the office staff will get your student. Have your ID ready to give to the office staff to be scanned by our Raptor System. Your student will come out to the vestibule to meet you.
If you need to meet with any staff or administration, please call ahead to schedule a meeting time so that our office can admit you into the building. Be sure to have your identification with you to expedite entry.
Thank you for your cooperation in our efforts to ensure the safety of our MIS family!
