The Storyline: West Chester native and Civil Rights activist Bayard Rustin faces racism and homophobia as he helps change the course of Civil Rights history by orchestrating the 1963 March on Washington.
The details: Students will stay after school on Thursday, November 30 to watch the movie and engage in pre/post discussion of the newly released Netflix movie. Rides home should be at Fugett by 5:00pm.
The cost: Free- there are no costs associated with this iHistory opportunity.
MPAA Rating: Rated PG-13 for thematic material, some violence, sexual material, language including racial slurs, brief drug use, and smoking.

Winter Athletic Information
Dear Coaches, Players, Parents and Guardians,
Winter sports will begin in November for Girls Basketball and Wrestling. Boys Basketball will
begin in December. Coaches will be providing more information to students prior to tryouts
and practices.
● Depending on the sport and the number of students interested, tryouts may take place
before practices begin.
● Practices will be held each day after school (weather permitting).
● Coaches will announce practice times and distribute schedules to teams once practices
begin.
● PIAA physicals (must dated after June 1, 2023) must be uploaded into Family ID for
your son/daughter to continue to participate in winter sports. If a student is interested
in a winter sport and played a 2023 fall sport with their PIAA physical already in
FamilyID, simply register for the spring sport.

FMS FUNDRAISERS
East Holiday Store - great holiday gifts for 8th graders!
West Chester East DECA is hosting an online Holiday Store from now until November 15th. All orders will be placed online and then shipped to the home of the customer in time for the holidays, hence the Nov. 15th cutoff. A $2 markup has been added to each item as a fundraiser for East DECA. East DECA is an organization for students with an interest in varying areas of business. DECA students participate in competition, community service, and leadership activities.

Monthly Theme - Caring
Students explored definitions of empathy and understanding. Specific also came up with examples of what these feelings and behaviors look like in different scenarios within their lives.

Recess Equipment
The PTO is currently collecting new and gently used sports equipment for the students to use during lunch/recess time. If you are able, please check out our Sign Up Genius and donate today! Also if you would like to help, but don't have the time to research and order an item, we are also taking donations through venmo. Please reference a recess item when sending a venmo. We appreciate your support!

Drop Off
Please wait until 7:00 to let children out of the car. We have staff ready to welcome students every morning, but this role does not start until 7:00.
Drop Off/Pick Up for Families with Students at EHS and FMS
To serve you better, families may drop off and/or pick up East and Fugett students at either building, as long at you are using the typical drop off/pick up location.
Please Check Backpacks 🎒
Parents: Please encourage your children to check their backpack for toys and water guns before coming to school after a weekend. We understand that backpacks may serve a dual purpose over the weekend, but any items in violation of the WCASD Discipline Manual will result in student disciplinary outcomes.
