What:
Galileo made pioneering observations of nature with long-lasting implications for the study of physics, constructed a telescope, and supported the Copernican theory, which states that the earth and the planets rotate around the sun.

Galileo was born in 1546, and he died in 1642.

Galileo was born in Pisa, Italy, and remained in Italy throughout his lifetime.
Why:
Armed with intelligence, talent, and curiosity, Galileo strived to discover as much as he could regarding physics and astronomy and teach others about what he had learned.
