Take a right into the Luce parking lot. Make the loop inside the Luce parking lot.
Parents will queue up their cars in the parking loop (closest to the school), so that their child(ren) can get out of the car and take a picture 6ft-apart from their teacher in front of the school sign. Please have your child sit on the passenger side (front or back) of your car to unload safely. Students will get back in the car and into the rolling-parade queue;
We will have a professional photographer taking the photos which we will share with families at a later time;
Parents must remain in the car; can take a photo/video from their car window;
After the last child takes their picture, the rolling queue will roll out of the Luce driveway;
Exit the Luce parking lot by taking a right on to Independence St.;
Left onto Prospect St.;
Take a right onto Sherman St. and complete the route down Sherman St.
The parade route ends at Washington St.
Parents will head home after they clear the parade route.
Please note:
Parents will need to stay in their cars during the student distribution process, rolling parade, and during pictures. Pictures can be taken from the passenger side window.
Cars should not come back to the school parking lot after clearing the main parking lot.
Family members and other community members can attend the parade route but should refrain from going on school property and adhere to social distancing guidelines (i.e. wear face masks and stand 6-ft apart)
Social Distancing Considerations and Safety Expectations:
All staff, parents, and students must wear a mask to adhere to safety guidelines.
Students can take off their masks to take a picture and must put them back on after the picture is taken
Parents will open their trunks (at the Luce Bus Loop) to ensure a contactless distribution of materials. If you do not have a trunk release, please allow the staff member to open and close your trunk for you.
Hugging or close contact will not be permitted at any time during this day.
During the parade route, all children must stay safely in their cars.
The following behavior will not be permitted:
Hanging out of windows and or sunroofs;
Sitting in the back of pick-up trucks
Any other behavior that is deemed inappropriate or unsafe
At no time will parents or other family members get out of the vehicle during the 5th-grade promotion.
