Amazon Rain Forest Food Web
At the bottom of my food web are plants, flowers, nuts, seeds, fruits, and insects; also known as producers and decomposers. The next layer of my web is filled with primary consumers like the pika, red-breasted bird, pacific tree frog, edith's checkerspot (butterfly), and a squirrell. The third layer is consumed of secondary comsumers, a ring tail lemar, whiptail lizard, amd a raven. The forth and final group is called the teritary consumers. This group is filled with the webs top predators, the coyote amd mountain lion for example.
Flea and The Coyote
This symbiotic relationship is called paraitism, it benefits only one of the species, in this case the flea is happy while the coyote is sad. The flea is benefiting by drinking the coyotes blood. This is hurting the coyote.
Flea, red-breasted bird, and the coyote
This symbiotic relationship is called motualism, this benefits both the species. In this scenario the red-breasted bird comes by and eats the flea on the coyote. The bird is benefited because now he has something to eat. The coyote is benefited because now he doesnt have anannoying flea jumping on him and eating him alive.
The mountain lion and the lady bug
This symbiotic relationship is called commensalism, this benefits one but doesnt bother the other species. In this action the lady bug hitches a ride on the mountain lion. The lady bug benefits by this because he gets a ride and gets where he needs to go. The mountain lion doesnt really mind because he probably cant feel the lady bug.
Ways humans are impacting the environment
Humans are impacting forest all over the world, positivitly and negatively. They are chopping down trees and destroying the environment. Other people, are concerned about the animals that live there. They are rescuing animals everyday and taking care of them in professional centers.
The worm
The worm is very important to my food web. The worm is a decomposer found at the bottom of the food web. It's eaten by primary consumers. If the worm population went down, animals would have to compete for food.
The pika
The pika is also just as important as the worm. The pika is a primary consumer the feeds on plants (producers) and worms (decomposers). It's eaten by secondary consumers like the raven.
Ringtail lemar
The ringtail lemar is also important. It's at the third level of the web called secondary consumers. They prey on animals like the pika and the squirrel. They're eaten by the ,oust deadly of the food web, the top, the teritery consumers, like the mountain lion and the coyote.
