COINS for CORTEZ: Please bring in coins to help the Bell family! There will be a container in every classroom. We are partnering with North Fork High School!
Important Dates:
Wednesday, March 13: Dodgeball Fundraiser for Cortez Bell (see links and flyer below)
Monday, March 18: NO SCHOOL (Teacher Inservice)
Tuesday, April 2: CMAS Testing begins (see information below)
CMAS testing
CMAS (Colorado Measures of Academic Success) testing, the state standardized testing for all 3rd - 6th graders begins on April 2. Reading, Writing and Communicating tests will be administered that week, and Mathematics tests will be administered the following week. In addition, 5th graders will take the Science test the week of April 23. It is really important that ALL students are present for these tests, so please try to plan travel accordingly. If your family has a conflict, please let Denise know as soon as possible.

Esther Alsum is an Upper Elementary Teacher (Grades 4 - 6). She grew up in New Jersey. She was a guide in Alaska and a teacher on backpacking trips in New Zealand, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina. Some of her favorite foods are avocados, salad, and cheese. Esther likes Colorado because of the outdoor activities. Her hobbies are reading, playing the cello and active activities outside. She wanted to work here because she loves the kids and the community. She likes to read historical fiction. Her favorite countries are Bolivia and Chile because of the food, people, and landscapes.
