Parent Visitation Policy
State law requires that all persons visiting the school at any time and for any reason MUST report to the office to receive a visitors’ pass before entering a classroom. Visitors are required to show identification to the office staff. This is not to discourage visitation, but is a safety measure. Forgotten books, assignments, lunches, etc., may be left at the office for delivery to the classroom. If you desire to visit a classroom, we ask that you notify us 48 hours in advance, so that arrangements can be made with staff. All classroom visitors must be escorted by a school staff member.

Shelby Ridley
My name is Shelby Ridley, I'm from Perry, Ga where I graduated Perry High School in 2002. I furthered my education and obtained my Bachelor's degree at the "REAL" Blue and Gold, none other than Albany State University. This is my first year here at Central High School. I teach 10th grade English and Journalism and I absolutely love it.
Amber Lamar
Hello! My name is Amber Lamar and I am the 9th grade Counselor and Senior with Last names beginning with (A-G) Counselor. I received my bachelors from Albany State University in 2015. Where I participated in a host of organizations and became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. After receiving my bachelors I had the opportunity of working in the Mental Health field and with the Department of Juvenile Justice. Through that experience it motivated me to pursue a career path in School Counseling because I believe we are in the business of second chances. While pursuing my masters I had the opportunity to work as a long term sub in Bibb and later as a Special Education Teacher in Twiggs County. I recently graduated from Fort Valley State University December 2017 from the School Counseling Program. Now I am actually starting my first year as a School Counselor at my alma mater, home of the Orange and Blue! I am excited to be back home, my educational philosophy is "Every Day is a New Day and Every Student is Different." Lastly, I am expecting my first child on October 1st and in my free time I love to give back to the community of Macon coaching youth cheerleaders.
Nigel Bowden
My name is Coach Bowden and I am the current ISS teacher at Central High School. This is my first year teaching and I enjoy being a mentor for the students at central. I am also a football coach at Central and my positon is over the Linebackers!
In school I obtained my bachelor's degree in Public Health from the number 14 school in the Nation, Vanderbilt University. While at Vanderbilt I played linebacker 3 years of SEC football against the top players in the country. Also, while playing I was an All SEC Linebacker and led the team in tackles. However, my career was cut short due to injuries.
I grew up playing football in Macon and I even played football here at Central. While playing, I managed to obtain Captain and team MVP as senior... Enjoyed incredibly productive career as four-year LB starter... As senior I posted 117 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, four sacks and four forced fumbles for Chargers... Named First Team AAA All-State as senior... Also played TE on offense... Nominated to play in postseason Offense-Defense All-American Bowl... Two-time Region Player of the Year recipient... As junior, posted 155 tackles and five sacks... Contributed 88 tackles, seven sacks and three forced fumbles as sophomore. All those accomplishments are great but I never made it to the playoffs. Ultimately, I came back to impact our students in a positive way to ensure greatness in each and every individual! Lets Go Chargers !!!!
