Notes from Mrs. Strohmeyer
It is not often that I get to send a message on an extra day in February! Today we celebrated our extra day of learning by searching for the hidden "Leap Frogs" in the building as we transitioned from class to class. Classes that found a leap frog enjoyed a little extra recess today! The best part for me was hearing how excited students were to find a frog.
THE EAGLE WAY:
Tomorrow, March 1, I will be visiting each classroom with some reminders for the months to come. With less threat of snowy weather and lots of consistent learning days ahead it is prime time to refocus on our Eagle Way Expectations. We will celebrate classroom data and students' successes and will discuss behavioral expectations. The school staff has noticed an increase in undesirable learner behaviors since January. There has been an increase in students not keeping their bodies to themselves and students using threatening and/or disrespectful language towards one another. Please continue to encourage your child to be a positive role model and to let an adult know right away if they are treated in an unkind manner so that school staff can address it immediately. If you have questions specific to your child's academics or behavior, please reach out to their teacher.
STAFFING NEWS:
I am excited to share that we will be adding 1.5 additional teaching positions to our school next year giving us 13 classroom teachers total. We will continue with 1 PreK next year and, at this time, the plan is to have 2 teachers per grade level and no multi-grade classrooms next year. Additionally, we will have an art, music and PE teacher here full time next year which is a win for Liberty.
COMING UP:
We have a month filled with opportunities for fun and learning. Check out the "March Family Fridge Calendar" that came home in today's Thursday Folder to see what is coming up this month.
