Happy September!
This year, RMMS Faculty and Staff have organized our learning around a theme of positive energy. All adult faculty and staff are reading the book The Energy Bus by Jon Gordon and concentrating on positive intentions to create positive outcomes for our students. We hope you can already sense the effect our focus is having on children. We believe in that our investment, together with your support at home, can produce the very best for our students' learning.
Please read our monthly newsletters throughout the year designed to help parents support students and keep them aware of school procedures and happenings. For more information, you can also consult of school website and our facebook page.
Any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely yours,
Dr. Sue, Mrs. Mariana & The RMMS Faculty & Staff

RMMS To Launch a New Robotics Program: Explore!
The Regional Multicultural School (RMMS) is excited to announce that it will be offering a new robotics program called Explore! to be launched this fall. Designed by a robotics specialist, our school technology teacher and our STEM coach, Explore! will give our students the opportunity to create and problem-solve in a new and unique manner. “Unlike some robotics programs, all RMMS students will get hands on time with the robots,” stated RMMS STEM Coach, Jeff Giliberto. “This means that every student, starting in Kindergarten and moving all the way up through 5th grade, will be learning robotics and that is incredibly exciting.”
RMMS will not be starting this adventure alone. Fini McGlinchey will be assisting RMMS staff in the instructional design of the robotics program. Ms. McGlinchey, or Ms. Fini, as the students refer to her, created the Dual Language & Arts Magnet Middle’s award-winning robotics program in 2014. Since its inception, the team has earned multiple awards each year, including a 3rd place overall finish in the 2016 Lego First League State Robotics Tournament.
Explore! holds great promise for our students. It will infuse engineering, computer science, and math standards as well as the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program* curriculum to create a real world-connected program. Explore! will be led by RMMS technology teacher Pam Poirier and will be embedded into the existing technology class. For more information please feel free to reach out to STEM Coach Jeff Giliberto at JGiliberto@rmms.k12.ct.us.
Save the Date- RMMS Back to School Learning Celebration- Wednesday, October 10th
