Skills of an Artist
Framing Artworks=CAREFUL MEASURING!
1- Clean table surface
2. Collect tools
- Ruler
- Mechanical Pencil
- Lintfree rag or towel
- Small t-square
- Screwdriver for frame
- Mounting hinge tape
- Masking tape or double sided tape
3. Have artwork ready to measure height and width of image to show through the cut window.
If image is 8 x 10 as an example, the mat must be 1/4 inch less on all sides to ensure the paper overlaps the frame.
4. Remember to draw the cut lines with a ruler on the BACK of the board.
5. ***Test the measured lines by laying artwork over mat and verifying that it goes beyond and covers the ruled lines, which proves the artwork will not fall through the window to be cut.
