Back by popular demand! This morning, the THS Track and Field team welcomed our car riders at they entered the building.
Summer School Forms - Due Monday, April 29
Summer school forms were sent home with students last week and are due this coming Monday, April 29. The following students are welcome to attend summer school:
Kindergarten, 1st, 4th, and 5th grades - All students in these grade levels are invited to attend summer school.
2nd Grade: Students who scored at risk on IREAD-3 are invited to summer school.
IREAD-3 Summer School (3rd & 4th Grades): Students in 3rd and 4th grades that did not pass IREAD-3 this spring are required to attend summer school and retake IREAD-3 the last week of summer school.
Please reach out to Mr. Johnson or your child's classroom teacher with any questions or another form if you need one.
Pre-Kindergarten Open House and Enrollment
ILEARN Testing - Grades 3-5
ILEARN testing will continue through May 3rd. The first week of testing went very well! Our students are capable and prepared for ILEARN. Encourage them to stay positive and calm while giving their best effort. Remind them that you are proud of them no matter what. Together, we will help each of them succeed!

- Mrs. (Koose) Winn's Kindergerten class celebrated the joining of marriage between letters Q and U with Mr. Johnson officiating the wedding.
- Students in Ms. Cottingham's 4th grade class present their Civil War projects to Mrs. Gillman's 2nd grade students. Mrs. Gillmann's class have been studying the Civil War during reading.
Kindergarten Roundup for 2024-2025
Last Friday, April 19, was an exciting day for approximately 70 incoming Kindergarteners, their families, and our staff. What an awesome day full of smiles and excitement on the faces the faces of both kids and adults! Thank you to everyone who made this event a huge success!
2024-2025 TES Teacher of the Year Finalists
As voted on by TES staff and families, here are the four finalist for the 2023-2024 TES Teacher of the Year: Miss Lauren Barthel, Mrs. Amanda Delph, Mrs. Angela Meister, and Miss Hunter Walsh (Miss Walsh is the one with the student on her back). Congratulations to each of these outstanding educators! The TES Teacher of the Year will be announced the week of May 6.

Special Ride to School
TES 4th grade student, Caleb Furlani, got a special ride to school this morning on a Kempton Fire Rescue Volunteer Fire Department truck. Caleb choose this prize after winning a raffle at an event in Kempton. What a fun experience for Caleb and all who witnessed it!
TES Staff Spotlight - Cafeteria Team
This week we spotlight our cafeteria team!
Susie Moore has been the Cafeteria Manager for 12 years and with Tipton School Corp for 14 years. Susie always says she loves working in the cafeteria because it’s like being the favorite aunt. In Susie’s off time, she enjoys time with her family, especially her grandkids, hiking, camping and gardening.
Tabitha Matthews has been the Cafeteria Asst. Manager for 12 years and has worked for the school for over 20 years. Tab likes to go to Tennessee to visit her family. Tab also spends a great deal of her off time with her three grandbabies.
Shelia Lacy has been with the cafeteria for seven years. Shelia enjoys lots of different craft projects and she has been a girl scout leader for 15 years. Shelia’s favorite thing is to ride with her Husband on the back of their Harley. She calls it “wind therapy”.
Daina Hernandez has been with the cafeteria for three years. Daina likes to spend time traveling to spend time with her family. She is a mother of 4 and has been married to her husband for 26 years. Diana says it is a pleasure to be able to serve the students and her favorite cafeteria food is lasagna.
Scotlyn (Bee) Moore has worked as both the custodian and kitchen staff since 2022. In Bee’s off time she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and family. Bee is into mystical art, crystals, and herbal healing.
Shannon Trent came to the kitchen staff from being a recess aid this year and has been a great contribution to the cafeteria. Shannon has worked for the school since 2019. Shannon enjoys shopping and time with her family.
Kathy Williams has worked for the school for 19 years now. Kathy started at the high cafeteria, then went to St. John's and when they closed, she moved to the TES/TMS cafeteria. Kathy helped her husband farm for many years along with helping rebuild antique tractors and went to the auctions. Kathy has one daughter that she spends some of her down time with.
Lydia Watson has been with the cafeteria for two years. She enjoys video games and reading. Lydia is a huge Harry Potter fan.
Hayley Lineberry worked off and on for the cafeteria for two years now. Hayley enjoys walking her dog and spending time with her family. She is excited for her second child this fall.
Austin Louthen has worked for Tipton School Corp for three years now and the kids absolutely love him and he loves seeing them every day at work as well. Austin is always willing to help others whether it is at work in the kitchen or at home with his family. When Austin isn’t at work, he spends his time playing video games and helps take care of his mom.
Julie, Janet, & Tracy are all new to the cafeteria this year. They have all fit in and become a huge part of the cafeteria team.
Janet Todd in her off time spends time traveling to watch her grandson play hockey and seeing her family. She is also a huge Colts fan and enjoys going to their games when she can. Janet said that she enjoys her job because of the people she works with.
Tracy Michael spends her off time with her daughter and mother. Her mother retired a few years back from the High School cafeteria manager. Tracy is also known to spend time loving on her cat. Her favorite part of her job is seeing all the students smiling faces.
Julie Feltz's favorite thing to do is spend time with her family whether it is watching her grandkids play ball, camping, bowling or just family get-togethers. Julie loves the kids and enjoys working with the staff.

Attention 5th Grade Families! We know the transition from elementary to middle school can feel daunting but TMS is here to help! We will be having a parent meeting for all current 5th grade families on May 13th from 5:30-6:30 at the TMS Cafeteria (you can enter through the TMS Athletic Entrance, Door N). Come join Principal John Ayars, Assistant Principal Kelsey Alfrey, and Guidance Counselor Cliff Hackman to hear about how we help students transition into 6th grade for next school year, and to get your child signed up for TMS Rocks, the 6th Grade Orientation, in August. We look forward to seeing you there!
