Park Terrace Elementary
February 17, 2021 Newsletter
Greetings Park Terrace Families!
I hope everyone had the opportunity to have engaging and productive conversations with teachers about their student’s progress this year! Even though conferences looked a bit different, they are truly an invaluable opportunity for families and staff to partner in each student’s education. If you have not had the opportunity to conference with your student’s teacher yet, please work with him or her to find a time to meet via WebEx.
Trimester 3 is rapidly approaching! If your family wants to request a change from Extended Flexible Learning to learning at school full-time, you can make the request by contacting our school office February 22-26. We need to have any requests by the end of day on Friday, February 26 in order to have time to make any needed adjustments to class rosters for trimester 3. We’ll be working to honor all requests as we begin the trimester. Families may continue to request a move to Extended Flexible Learning at any time.
It is hard to believe it, but, our fourth grade students will soon be transitioning to Westwood! In order to help prepare for this change of schools, please mark your calendar for February 25 and see the newsletter for details on the virtual information sessions for fourth graders who will soon be fifth graders!
The Panthers for a Purpose virtual giving event is just over a week away. Find information on the event page. I hope you’ve marked your calendar for Saturday, February 27 at 7 p.m. when you can tune in live to see some familiar faces and join together in some fun for a good cause!
I hope everyone has a great rest of the week! Thank you for your continued partnership with our teachers, our staff, our school district and our community.

Updates for Extended Flex Learning Families
Greetings,
Conferences are in full swing – and February is conference month. I have enjoyed taking part in a few conversations with parents and teachers over the last several days. I appreciate the opportunity to make these connections, gain insights and answer any questions that linger. Please connect with your child’s teacher to find a time to meet if you haven’t already done so. Extended Flexible Learning staff is anxious to connect with you.
There are a couple of items in this week’s newsletter to pay special attention to. Our students can now check out library materials. See the details in the Need to Know section. And, if you have a fourth grader in your household, please note the opportunity to learn more about Westwood and 5th grade on February 25.
Teachers will be reaching out to you when it is time to return Wit & Wisdom Module 1 resources and pick-up Module 2. The next pick-up is being offered at different times for different grade levels based on when the new resources are needed. You will be receiving detailed information from your child’s teacher as the next scheduled pick-up draws near.
If your family wants to request a change from Extended Flexible Learning to learning at school full-time, you can make the request by contacting our school office February 22-26. We’ll be working to honor all requests as we begin the new trimester.
Enjoy these last few days of February. I am looking forward to warmer days ahead. Please reach out if you have questions or thoughts to share.
Take care,
Kimberly Fehringer
