Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Indepedence was written by five men including Thomas Jefferson. It was written on June 11-June 28,1776 approved on July 4th,1776. The group of men met in seceret because they could get killed for writing the Declaration of Independence. The declaration was written in Philadelphia. The declaration was made to tell the rights people have and that everyone should be treated the same. Fifty-six men signed the Declaration of Independence.

Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson was born on April 13,1743 and died on July 4th,1826. Jefferson played a big part in writing the Declaration of Independence.Jefferson strongly believed in equal rights. Jefferson lived in Virginia and went to the college of William and Mary. Jefferson grew up to be a skilled lawyer. Jefferson married Martha Wayles Skelton. He had 6 children. Jefferson was also elected to the Virginia House of Burgesses in 1768.
