Joyfully Embracing Our Mission

IN SOLIDARITY: We Stand TOGETHER in Faith, Hope and Love
Owe nothing to anyone, except to love one another;
for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery;
you shall not kill; you shall not steal; you shall not covet, ”
and whatever other commandment there may be,
are summed up in this saying, namely,
“You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Love does no evil to the neighbor;
hence, love is the fulfillment of the law.
~ Romans 13:8-10
Dear St. Clare School Families,
We stand in solidarity on this Labor Day with those who fought and continue to fight for the dignity of work and the rights of workers. We continue to pray for those who toil yet are not paid a living wage and for those whose work conditions are unsafe or unjust. We pray in thanksgiving for the opportunity to work and serve and benefit from the freedoms we enjoy because of our forebears.

REOPENING PREPARATIONS
We are preparing the school site in anticipation of the approval of the waiver or the move from “purple” to “red” in the next couple of weeks that will allow schools to reopen. Be on the lookout for training opportunities for those who have chosen to register for in-person learning to ensure clear expectations and shared commitments to keep our community safe and all of our teachers, students and families healthy.
GRATITUDE AND THANKSGIVING
Many thanks to all of you for your partnership this week with STAR assessments. Your understanding of the importance of letting the students try their best effort is greatly appreciated.
I would also personally like to acknowledge Mrs. Filion for her leadership and thank Mrs. Martinez for her assistance in ensuring that students and teachers were supported. I am very proud of our faculty for taking one more challenge in stride very early in our school year.
Most of all, I am so very proud of our students who have been tremendously resilient this past week with STAR, Clever and co-curriculars. Please continue to encourage them to name their feelings, ask for what they need and allow themselves to fail and get back up again.
Finally, I am grateful to our parent leadership for providing me with input, feedback and guidance and for their care and concern for our school and our families.
Humbly in your service,
Cecile Mantecon, Principal

Swivl Robot Needed for Classrooms | DONATE TODAY
Home Learning @ St. Clare 2.0 will be launched on August 19, 2020. One of the tools that will help our teachers to deliver quality instruction is a tool called Swivl.
An iPad or mobile device is mounted on the Swivl robot which rotates to follow the teacher across the room/space. Multiple markers record the audio throughout the room while the tethered iPad (or mobile device) records the video. It's easy for teachers to setup, start/stop recording, and upload to the Swivl cloud account.
While we make plans to return in-person when it is safe to do so, we are committed to providing a distance learning option for all families who need it throughout the year. Swivl will allow us to teach in any scenario. The Swivl can be set up in the back of the room to record the teacher instruction and interaction, while engaging those who are learning at home. WATCH this example of a dual learning environment using Swivl.
Currently, each starter kit which includes 5 markers, a wide-angle lens and cloud subscription costs $1,500. Check with your company's matching program to see if you can double the benefit!
To make a donation in any amount, please visit our school store. Share the link with family and friends as a way to donate to fundraisers that we may not be able to have this school year. You may note the name of the student or person you'd like to honor with this donation, including the classroom you'd like to benefit from this donation.
