What is Epilepsy?
Epilepsy is a disorder marked by sudden recurrent episodes of sensory disturbances, and loss of consciousness, or even a concussion leading to damage in the brain. When is Epilepsy awareness day?
Epilepsy day, or purple day, is on March 26th, and you wear purple on that day. The day is so that people can be more alert about Epilepsy, and be aware that people out there are suffering.
How Many People Have Epilepsy?
About 3 million Americans have Epilepsy currently. Of the 3 million, 65 million people have it world wide. Every year, 200,000 people are diagnosed with Epilepsy.
How To Help?
Seizures happen anywhere at anytime. To help during a seizure keep the person from getting any injuries, try to move any furniture or other objects that could get the person injured. Place the person on their side so that the liquid comes out of their mouth. Do not hold the person down or force anything inside their mouth.
