HMS Track- OATCCC Indoor Jr High State Championship Meet
Hamilton Middle School sent five amazing athletes to the OATCCC Indoor Jr High State Championship Meet.
Dan Whitney, who is an assistant coach with the program, had this to say-
"Since November, our MS indoor track athletes demonstrated maturity and dedication far beyond typical kids their age. Every day, regardless of weather, they walked to the high school and participated in practice sessions with the high school athletes. That dedication paid off this past weekend.
Our boys 4x800 team of Zeke Guyer, Josiah Baker, Landen Erwin, and Luke Whitney took 5th place overall (statewide) and set a Hamilton middle school indoor record of 10:58!
Alex Whitney Pole Vaulted to a 7th place overall, setting an HMS indoor record of 7’6” (6” short of the outdoor record).
Prior to the state meet, Zeke Geyer set a middle school indoor record for the 1600, with a time of 5:58
I’ve really enjoyed being their coach, but it’s also been awesome to see the bond and mentorship our high school student-athletes provide them, both athletically and academically. I think the 8th graders on this team will be well postured for success next year."
Way to go Rangers! We are so proud of you!
