08:25 – Introduction: Sarah Underwood, Editor, ICT for Education
08:30 – 08.50 – View from the top: Gail Webb, head of learning improvement for Leeds County Council
Gail will open the conference with a presentation on learning, ICT and the future of schools and the local authority. She will consider the role of the local authority within a changing agenda, schools and learning for the future, and the place of ICT in learning.
08.55 – 09:15 – ICT in the classroom: Bob Harrison, chair of the Teaching Agency ICT Expert Group and the Teaching Schools Technology Advisory Board
This presentation will explore whether the next generation of teachers is being prepared to support children in a digital world.
09:15 – 09:35 – ICT in the classroom: Alison Darroch, ICT coordinator, Robin Hood Primary School
This presentation will outline Robin Hood Primary School's progress in integrating and using Apple iPads across the curriculum. Alison will share photos and videos of the iPads in use and detail some of the outcomes created by pupils.
09:40 – 10:00 – ICT Reviews Live: ICT for Education product reviews team
An independent product review session that will put products to the test and give you real insight into their capabilities. ICT Reviews Live! will be led by the ICT for Education reviews team. Watch the reviews, comment on product content, consider underlying technologies, discuss ease of use and share your opinions on how you would like suppliers to develop products and services to meet the needs of teachers and schools.

10:35 – 11:15 – Question Time: Will forthcoming changes to the national curriculum improve the ICT capacity of schools and students to an extent that will benefit employers?

In a special hands-on session we will examine the infrastructure requirements for a successful one-to-one or bring your own devices scheme and demonstrate some of the components including wireless networks, mobile device management, bring your own device security and multimedia resource delivery.

13:10 – 14:00 – Make your own electronic books: Guest speaker: Steve Bunce, independent education consultant
Electronic books are available to buy instantly, but what are the opportunities for schools to create their own? In this presentation, Steve will look at making books in schools, especially books linked to iPads, and discuss research with Hull University on the creation of electronic books.
